I'm not very good at describing/picking out scents, but I definitely get some amber and sandalwood from it. It's a very clean, inoffensive scent and although it's not my favorite, the performance is the best I've experienced so far. I think it smells pretty similar to Barrister's Reserve Spice/Classic or Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender (less so than the BR stuff).

No worries, hughmonstah, glad to have you back, and thanks for your comment. It definitely gives me a better idea of the soap’s scent, and I completely understand how difficult such things can be to describe.

Everyone seems to be talking about the tallow and donkey milk version of Monaco Royale, which is understandable. But I do wonder if anyone has tried the vegan version yet, as it also has some interesting and unusual ingredients… Confused2

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Picked up some fragrances today. I've been looking for an Oud scent to go with my Saponificio Varesino Arctic Tundra soap and finally found one, JPD Oud Noir. I also picked up this Sephora cologne sample pack. 12 different samples and a coupon for a full sized bottle of my favorite of the bunch. Excellent deal and a way to try before you buy.

ob1page and Shynt, be sure to share your new goods in the April thread, too, as this is the one for March that just happened to get reactivated. Confused

Very true. I guess I know his tallow and tallow donkey milk is good, so I stick with that. I heard good things about the toner, so I'm interested in that.. That said, the balms have donkey milk in them, so I'm thinking of picking a balm up when I order the new barbershop scent: Man from Mayfair or something..

The praise for the donkey milk version is so unanimous, that I understand the desire to stick to what works. The upcoming new scent sounds promising, and I have also seen very positive comments about the toners. And now the balms, too… Smile

Haven't seen anything written about the donkey milk balms. Might try them out (helps that they save me money too) Smile

You were the first I’ve seen even mention the balms. Smile I’ve seen a few mentions of the toners, and just by looking at their ingredient list, it’s clear that there is some good skin food in there.
