Sorry, this was bothering me so I did some research. After seeing another likely v4 soap with this ingredient, as well as many without, I tried to figure out what it was. I Found this in my brief Google search:

Since the first one would have to be applied evenly... ie: if one soap needed it to help maintain lather stability, they all would, no?

This leads me to believe that it may be added to some of his soaps for the second reason: to help certain scents with their staying power, as well as prevent rancidity.

All just a guess, of course.

Hey guys, I removed Tetrasodium EDTA from my soaps starting with everything released after Spring Cabin. This might just of been an oversight in the listing. To be clear, I have not had another base since the spring of 2021 other than a few tweaks here and there with ratios and then the removal of TS EDTA last spring. I felt that the benefits weren't really worth it as a lot of people have concerns with safety and allergies, though I personally feel that TS EDTA is perfectly safe.

While we are on the subject, I've recently started adjusting my lye ratios to make my soaps a bit firmer. I do prefer a soap to be soft, but in the summer I had some soaps warm up and slide around in the tub--this is an effort to counter that in the future!

Hi Sean,

Any plans for a natural fragrance soap?  Some fragrance oils light me up, but I hear great things about your base!

Thanks for any comments on this,

Mike

Mike,

Have you checked out his Aspen Parkland? It is marketed as unscented, so might be a fit.

Actually I do see a final ingredient listed as Parfum . So maybe it is not completely free of fragrance

I had winter cabin and the base was good but the perfum didn’t agree.  I know my skin is super sensitive.  I also heard Sean was commenting about trying some new things at a higher price.

I would love to try the bourbon scent just to see if winter cabin was an outlier for me. I’ll take a look for it online.
