I prefer light razors like the ATT Calypso, the General from Colonial Razors and Schick Injectors. I find lighter razors are much more maneuverable and easier to handle for me. I do love my Rockwell 6C however as it is so smooth.

I get the best shaves from heavier razors. I find that with lighter razors I tend to press down and the result can be nicks.

It's not the absolute weight but rather the balance that I find significant. It's the same when it comes to fountain pens. If the balance is right I never notice the weight.

To be vintage it must be older than me!
The last razor I bought was the next to last razor I will ever buy!

I prefer a medium weight razor. A Gillette Fatboy I consider to be too heavy.

From this thread, a Gillette Slim is 70.7 g and a Gillette 195 (Fatboy) is 79.5 grams. I consider the Slim to be medium weight. My 74 g Edwin Jagger DE89L is only 4 g heavier, but the weight is more towards the head than the Slim. The EJ feels heavier, which I prefer. As jar noted, the balance is important, too. So I would say I prefer medium weight razors with the weight biased towards the head.

Used to like heavy razors, but now not so much. Not too light like it's a toy, but somewhere in the middle.

Sometimes I feel like my Krona is similar to a samurai sword - light, & agile. The speed & fluidity between motions is unrivaled to any of my other razors. Shaving with it is almost like an involuntary motion. It's lightness & compact head design are features I would like to see in products made by the new wave of razor manufacturers.
