It depends on the soap, but none in my den take longer than a couple minutes. I use the same soap brands regularly, which makes for faster loading times and pretty much perfect consistency. However, I don't keep finicky soaps around that take patience to lather, since there are so many others that are lather with ease.

This is the main aspect that I like about the whole process of shaving, especially, generating the lather on my face. Smile

Never timed myself so maybe just a few minutes?? Ill say 4 on a slow day. I like my lather creamy and glossy, so i spend most of that time adding water. It also depends on soap brand. Some whip up quicker than others.

Few minutes at most. Add water slowly until I start to see the glossy sheen. If it looks matte finish and not glossy it’s not ready yet.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I'm guessing about a minute. A couple of caveats, though. Hard soaps take a little longer. I also lather in a bowl with a bunch of ridges that doesn't have a smooth finish, which whips it up rather quickly.

3-5 minutes. I face lather exclusively. I enjoy 2-band brushes with moderate density, moderate backbone, and soft tips. I enjoy the process and look for a glossy lather.
