it is one of the most pronounced Fougere scents from what I currently have (MDC, Wholly Kaw, LASS, Eufros). To my nose it has a healthy dose of pleasant earthiness and the smell lingers for quite sometime. If I were to rate it according to my taste it would take the solid 3 place after MDC and LASS Topanga Fougere.

L&L produces phenomenal lather with minimal effort. I don't anything different with it than I do with any other soap, and I get absolutely incredible lather.
It loads VERY easily. Loading should not require any "pressure", just swirl your brush. I always bloom all my soaps, but I don't consciously push water into the soap. I just swirl the brush until it is about 50% loaded with product and proceed to build lather in my scuttle.

I started out with a well shook out brush and I like to swirl slower than most and with little pressure. I never mash brushes while lathering and tend to let the top 25% of the brush do all the work. I press just enough to allow the brush to begin to splay. I also load heavy and this soap holds a lot of water , similar to a Barrister & Mann. I swirl slowly to keep as much air out of the lather as possible and this is why I don't bowl lather , and why I start out dry and keep proto lather and all it's air bubbles out of the lather. I also like to keep a teaspoon or two worth of soapy water that I poor off the soap in my mug to hydrate the lather with, this is also good to set the tips of your brush in as you shave and when you lather on your next pass you have some added soap and moisture to work with. Hope this answers your questions Zach. I appreciate your kind words and hope you enjoy this soap as much as I do.
