I've followed your pics from the other forum.
BTW, Worthpoint is a great source of pics from eBay.

Evolution of the model, and some pics (which led me there), connect to this thread.

These Krects are just elegant looking razors. I was not aware of the razor with the release button but have the 2 other versions in my den. While the model with the hook mechanism for me is smooth and efficent, the 3-piece razor is too mild for my taste.

Funny that worhtpoint had those pics as I bought it off Ebay and those are the exact pictures of my razor from the Ebay site of my razor that I bought and saved. Also your link to The Shave Den is the cooper razor which I don't think is connected to these but could be wrong......

Doehler-Jarvis was the manufacturer for this razor. They were a metal smelter and cast that razor head and handle for various different razors. Besides Cooper also being another branded version the handle was also used on other razors like the Cooper Kant rust razors, Hospital (that is the brand name) razors, Star and Speedway and others.

I've also owned these 2 razors at one point and can say the original Krect which I used to call it the suicide slant because you never knew if the razor head would come apart mid shave was the most aggressive slant razor I've ever used.

Efsk chronology of the models on the shaving universe forum is incorrect, the razor pictured here is in fact the first model, handle and head exactly as pictured on the patent applied for 1933, approved 1935, and pictured in ads as new in 1936. The razor itself carries a PAT. PENDING stamp rather than patent number.

The Spiral Curve with Doehler-Jarvis handle per my earlier comment appears from 1948, after the inventor's death .

what does a decent one of these costs? I have a renewed interest in slant razors lately and may have an interest in buying/trying one if they're not crazy expensive.

One was offered to me a, couple years ago for $70 which I passed on. The one I found was in a big lot so not very helpful though I'm guessing the other bidders were also after the Krect. Lot I think went for $120.

$70 isn't too bad...$120 is more than I'd be willing to pay to 'try it out'. lol
