Gents,

This razor arrived in the mail today.  The fit, and finish are superb.  The full bellied hollow is a wickedly neat grind that I am looking forward to using.

The initial impressions of this stunning razor are that it looks and feels impressive.  I will hone tomorrow, and use shortly thereafter.  I will post how it goes.

Thanks gents!  I haven’t used a bellied hollow, so it should be fun!

Well...it’s honed and ready to roll tomorrow.  This was a very easy razor to sharpen.  I killed the edge, started on the Chosera 1k, and the bevel was set in no time.  It moved through the stones well, and didn’t produce a whole lot of swarf...yet at the same time it was quite easy to get the edge where I think it needs to be for the shave.  As with my other 14s...the HHT wasn’t even fair for the hair!

I am looking forward to its initial shave!

Gents,

The Koraat 14 2.0 razor is a really really great shaver, it took an extremely sharp, keen, smooth, etc etc edge...and most importantly it delivered the goods.  A beautiful BBS shave with zero issues.

The Koraat proprietor was clever in a way to call this a 14, because it catches people’s eye, and makes them curious.

However, it is in a more streamlined and less substantial package as you can see below.  In my opinion the Koraat 14 2.0 does not replace the old 14s, but it does compete well against the heavyweights.  The fit and finish is superb, it has a wickedly neat full bellied hollow grind, is very very pleasing to the eye, and the shave was stupendous.

In my opinion, if the tail was a smidge longer it would improve how it fees/fits in the hand...aside from that I don’t have anything approaching constructive criticism to share.

The pics below are of two Spanish 14s, since I hold the Spanish 14s in the highest regard, and because these came to me NOS which is why they are most useful for size comparisons.

As a final aside, the Ethos DBV2 is a really high quality soap which contributed to a great shave as well!

Which bellied hollow is this? The thick beard or normal, or???

It is the normal bellied hollow, and it’s pretty slick if you ask me!

I redid the finish on my other JNAT to see if the Koraat likes it better!
