Was the photo of the titanium razor on their Instagram or some where else? I was just on their instagram and didn’t see it. I’m curious about it, as there was certainly a point in time when I couldn’t wait to see Karve’s CB razor in titanium... But despite my interest and curiosity, I took a stand to no longer buy from Karve.

The photo of the Ti razor is on TheVirtualGroomroom Instagram account, which belongs to the guy working for Karve, and he mentions that he will soon post a video testing the razor on his YouTube channel.

It was November 29, 2019 to be precise. So 3 months and a couple of weeks ... anyone received there polished Karve yet ... inquiring minds want to know.

I keep reminding 'us' because I'd hate to think I didn't give an unsuspecting potential customer of Karve a heads up that they are an undependable company to do business with.

Continuing R&D on new products while fulfilling backorders and other normal business functions is exactly how a healthy company should function. First time visiting this thread and felt compelled to comment on business practices. As to fulfillment time, that is a separate matter. Have neither relationship nor knowledge of any parties involved with the company

No, this is just not right. If you have resource constraints, a healthy business borrows from the bank, not unsuspecting customers. If you want to drive R&D while managing day-to-day business, then have the right people managing the relevant departments. Having the same person managing both departments, one of which is doing very poorly, does not equate to a healthy company or effective operating model.

Zhang, you have completely and utterly mischaracterized my remarks. R&D rightfully continues as normal operations proceed unless a SOE or GE.  Otherwise, like GE, your company stagnates and dies. 

Further, some companies operate on a small scale eschewing borrowing or overstaffing.  Generalizing a corp structure for a shave artisan company is aspirational at best and generally inappropriate.  In many cases the operations “department” may well be a machine shop and yet another contractor polishing.  Having worked with many machine shops, can state that the best are in high demand and the volumes coming from artisans mean they will always be a lower priority. 

It is up to customers if they are OK with this. Me, I am generally OK if the company can be trusted to ultimately deliver. Others may not be so inclined. It would seem this a known element for Karve.

I don't own one haven't read the entire thread or have an opinion not sure it's been mentioned but for those that are fans have noticed they are now offering top caps that cover blade tabs. I imagine their are many that wish that was an option originally.

I don't think the issue is R&D. Rather it is leading customers to believe that the product is in stock and will ship in a timely manner, when it is not even made yet. 

Wolfman, Charcoal Goods, Blackbird, Timeless are all small operations that let you know in advance what is 'ready to ship', or requires a wait time.

They don't take your money under a false pretense that it is available, and in the case of Karve, wait a month before announcing that they are 'working on it.' 

In the meanwhile manufacturing/selling other parts/razors  and not focusing on the paid orders that haven't been shipped months after the orders have been placed.

If instead Karve had announced pre-orders with a approximate delivery date we wouldn't be having this conversation. 

That is all I'm saying, and I'm going to quit beating the dead horse. I'm done with this thread.

I had a kind gentlemen send me a brass karve with a bunch of different plates to try it out for a while. I'm going to give it a whirl tonight. I'll probably go straight to the OC F plate and see how it goes from there.

love the look of the razor and it weighs in at the same weight as my SS blackbird SB...3.6 or 3.7oz, iirc.

Thanks for elaborating. Your response here is much clearer. The original comment seemed to imply that Karve's actions are that of a totally healthy business. However, it seems to me that he is stretched too thin, and a business sometimes needs to know the limits to which it can stretch itself and then focus appropriately. He's already suffering reputational damage.

I say all of this as someone who has an illogical love of his Karve razor, more so than the two Wolfman razors he has been able to acquire recently, and wants him to succeed. I will forgive a lot if you make a quality product. (I feel very differently about the whole Occam's Razor / Classic Shaving debacle.)
