Hope your Monday is as fun as mine!  Had a couple packages arrive today.
Rocnel Sailor and a Simpson Chubby liquid gold pour.
I can't take a picture that really shows off how great the pour looks really happy with it.

Vintage Shaver
Seattle, WA
An excellent mail call today. First, I got a new Blutt razor. These have received rave reviews, and I'm looking forward to using it.

And second, two 5-ounce tubes of vintage Penhaligon's Racquets Formula shaving cream. I hate the word unobtainium, but if anything fits the definition, it is this cream. In all my years of shaving, this is the only time I have ever seen it offered for sale.

Boy do I feel lucky today...

I bought these razors from someone locally for a steal. I'm almost embarrassed to say...

Very cool. The 46-47 Aristocrat is my birth era razor. It was my first DE acquisition after returning to wet shaving in 2012. I had mine replated in gold. I am glad you got the blade bank, too.

Custom Razor Handle
This is my new handle. It originally lived as a MicroMatic Open Comb razor. A shaver, GAW7596, on TOST3 had made two handles like this. I asked him about how he did it. He revealed his secret, and I tried to do it, too. I only got as far as cutting the handle off. He offered to finish it for me, and I agreed. He threaded the handle and sent along two double-threaded pieces that will accommodate most SE razors. The threaded piece screws into the bottom of the razor head and then into the handle. Thanks, Greg.

My primary acquisition this month was my G5C knot in a Maritime Brush (about which I've also started a separate thread). Fantastic looking:

That's really cool to hear. It's my first acquisition of an Aristocrat so I'm very happy with it. I'm going to clean it up and begin using it.

Not shaving-related, but still anticipated... We do not have air conditioning in our apartment, so last year during our worst heat wave, my wife and I went to a local air-conditioned mall motel for a few days, sitting in cool movie theaters during the day and eating out at restaurants. But this year we decided to get these two portable AC units, which arrived today and will go in the bedroom and office that bracket our living room, hopefully cooling the whole space a bit.

Woo-hoo! - July 27

The "xXx" and "Irish Countryside" are refills, but the "Sicily" AS is new to me (a gamble).
The RR Classic and Omega are replacements for a few partial tubs I got in a PIF, and the RR Puros is my not-quite replacement for a PIFfed partial tub of (now discontinued) RR "Tobacco 1". It does smell a bit different from Tobacco 1, but I think it's nicer.

The leather DE razor head cover is for my Philistine son, who always leaves his blade in the razor, typically without even rinsing it out.
Also it just tipped the order total to the minimum for free shipping.

Ya know ... I think I need a nicer cyclorama.
