No interest.  Great looking handles, never decided to keep any of the ones I owned.

I would be down for an original Stinger handle in brass depending on the price. Not interested in a razor head though.

Just ask Shane Blackland Razors who had a bunch of people request his Brass Blackbird after it was discontinued wanting to buy it and the reality is within a short time period he has discontinued the Brass because sales weren't up to what was being asked for...

There was a time when Brian couldn't make razors fast enough to keep up with demand and most that said they wanted one moved on to something else, be it a Blackbird, Raw, Paradigm, Wolfman, Carbon, etc. just to name a few... Once the design changed, the move for the company, and the everyday razor everyone lost interest. Truly a shame but it happens...

I had imagined that lot of people would be interested, and I'm not just talking about DFS here. But it has already back fired, my B&B tread was deleted... It's important for me to be as open as possible, B&B wouldn't have threads like this without getting paid for advertising. I Quote: “we are not interested in providing free advertising.” My bad, and I apologize to B&B!

That I'm a little excited and jump the gun, doesn't help either. I should have waited until I got an answer to what he thinks the prices will be. I can definitely reach most people on Instagram, so I'll ask someone on Instagram to help me gauge interest. I don't quite have the plan ready but will wait until I have an answer about the price.

I feel the same way about Charcoal Goods everyday razor, although I just bought one used. Big Grin I think figuring out what the majority want is probably the most import thing in this tread and i guess that the majority wants Gen 1 and 2 razor heads.

This is one of the prettiest handles ever made in my opinion, regardless of the metal

Miracles happen bro. Look at Paradigm for instance, bringing back the Diamond Back, in Titanium mind you.

If Brian wanted to bring back those Charcoal Goods razors he totally could. There's still a large demand in the market out there. He could take preorders like Andy did and make it happen.

I'm hoping for a miracle too, bro Tongue Brian open a pre-order is my goal, everything else is a failure. Big Grin

Without hesitation I would say the Gen 1 design is what most everyone would want but if Brian wanted to do what people wanted he never would've brought out the Gen 2 and the Everyday razors. People lost interest in CG as a brand years ago and in order to try and salvage his business he redesigned the razor which in the end didn't work out and there were plenty of guys begging for Gen 1 razors then too but he didn't want to make them anymore.

This is true. It’s really hard to judge actual demand based on requests alone. But it’s also a matter of scale and business needs. A few years ago the amount of brass we’re selling now would’ve been amazing. But we’ve grown to the point that it’s relatively insignificant and the pain of dealing with brass (low margin, tarnishing, annoying to polish) makes it not worth it to us.

That is to say that we can’t extrapolate this to CG necessarily because there is a good amount of demand still and it might be enough for them to justify production depending on their business goals.

I think consistency is the key. If you look at Wolfman, Tatara, etc. They've always had the same products offered and people bought them. When they introduced new items, these items were Added to the list as opposed to taking regular items off the list in lieu of new ones.

I don't have a problem with new products or innovation, but part of being consistent is also building brand identity; If you keep on switching things up and changing things and taking the regular items off the menu per say, then well it becomes sort of like a revolving game of trying to hit a target.

I wonder if the profile that was set up here as Brian and made one post in the everyday shaving thread will chime in on this one. He hasn’t engaged with questions or anything in that other thread.

I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean here, but I can assure you that Instashaving has no affiliation with Brian Twilley or his Charcoal Goods Razors companies. And the name instashaving is the name on my insta account, feel free to check it out. And that I'm trying to find out if there is any interest in getting Charcoal Goods Razors back on the market is an initiative of my own, and he is not informed about this tread. Well, not by me at least. The best thing for me was if he came on the scene and opened a pre-order to see if there was enough interest, that would save me a lot of work just to get a CG razor. I just want to see these gorgeous razors back on the market, at least until I get to buy the ones I want. And I'm quite flexible, i will probably buy what he offers. Well, not the Everyday Shaving razor that on is not for me.
