I know we are kind of new to this game but this is what we do.
The price of the soap is set no matter if you are a walk in customer or mail order.
We used the high end average of shipping from our shop to both Ca and NY.
FB customers pay what FB charges for shipping from zip code to zip code.
Call in customers, we look up shipping rates from our zip code to their zip code and we round up to the nearest dollar.
We have the meat scale so we can weigh the soap + packaging to know exactly what the pkg will weigh and can estimate USPS shipping rates from there.
We try to charge less for shipping with additional soap purchases because buyer is paying by weight in the same pkg, not shipping on each puck/bar per pkg.
Our only additional costs for shipping is the padded envelopes we source from Dollar General/Dollar Tree/Dollar Store.

I explain this in my own layman's terms as Mrs. Daveli does all the math work. I am just the humble shepherd.

We know cost is everything to customers so keeping costs down for the end user will result in return customers. Low cost and best bang for the puck is what we want to set us apart from the velvet lined, seasonal, ever changing base competitors.
