I just remembered that I also have the Ikon short comb and I find it very aggressive. I rarely use it which probably explains why I forgot I even owned it.

I just picked up a Shavecraft 102 slant and it's on deck for tomorrow morning's shave. I've heard nothing but positive things so I can't wait to try it out! I will report back with my findings.

The iKon ShaveCraft 103 Short Comb felt aggressive to me, too, when I first got it. But then, over time, something just clicked, and I really started enjoying it. Some say that it’s the (sharp) teeth that make it feel aggressive, and I think they might be right. But once I found the right angle and pressure (which should always be near zero, anyway), the 103 transformed into a favorite.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve used it, though, thanks to razor abundance. I should take it out and give it a spin — thanks for the reminder! Smile

Thats interesting, its amazing how things we initially don't like or have trouble with, after a period of time away seem to be much better. Magic? Improved technique? Solar flares? Who knows? Thanks Matsilainen I'll give the 103 another go, maybe with a nice mild blade.

I hope you like it, I find it to be a really nice shave. If you're someone who really likes an aggressive facial scarifier you may not like it though.

Thanks Marko. Only one shave, but I really liked it. I found it to mild but extremely efficient. BBS was the result after 2 passes and touch up. I think this one is a keeper and I'm looking forward to experimenting with different blades. Any suggestions?

It might be all of the above. Smile

I have to say, though, I recently kept giving another razor one chance after another, and in the end (after numerous slightly uncomfortable shaves) something just clicked and I found the pearl inside the oyster.

I had the 102 slant and traded it for the X3. I wasn't a fan of the 102 myself - the shaves felt harsh to me. The X3 isn't bad, but it doesn't shave all that close.

Thats great to hear wyze0ne , I find it likes most blades but for me it has a particular affinity for the Feather. And thats my take on the 102 as well, mild but efficient.

I sometimes wonder if lemons find their way in - for those that don't like the 102 the criticism is overwhelmingly that its too mild so when I hear of your experience I wonder if something was off on yours that made it harsh. If you get the chance to try a different 102 at some point I'd be curious to hear if you have the same experience. I'd suggest buying another one but that would just be madness. Imagine buying a razor that isn't cheap, finding you don't like it and buying another one to make sure its not a lemon. Yeah, no.
