I like your plan of switching sides with the razors I don't know if you would just get new blades or swap the blades out also to the different razors.
I like the way those handles look both of them.

Thank you! Yeah it’s kind of crazy and doesn’t really make sense so I’m going to use the same blades I just used again, just switch them to see if the smoothness switch’s to the older razor as I can’t think of anything else it could be at this point.

Those handles make a big difference in balance and maneuverability compared to the SS handles in my opinion.

At this point I’m glad I got the new head.

Has anyone purchased from the Ikon website recently? A buddy recommended that it is more reliable to buy from Maggard but thought I'd check here first. I want to buy a Tech.

Thanks!

Mine was from ebay, a couple of years ago maybe less. Good transaction though.

The seller on EBay and the Ikon website are the same as far as payment thru PayPal.

Bought off the website last month. No issues for me other than I sent them an email asking about the older one vs the newer and they never replied

Just bought one off the site yesterday based on Frank’s review since my Tech is an older one and I wanted to see if there was a difference. Already got the shipping notice.

Can’t wait to hear your evaluation on the old and new and see if you have the same experience. I’m waiting another two days to do the same shave comparison again only I’m switching the blades or I was thinking of just putting in two brand new Feathers.

Thanks all for the recommendation. For $40 shipped I had an ikon tek at my door in 48 hrs.

I really enjoyed the shave. Reminded me of a cg lvl 3. It was a much more comfortable shave than the r41 for me (I much prefer sb’s over oc’s). Very, very close shave. Shaving tomorrow will be optional.

My only gripe is the blade alignment. There is some horizontal play with the blade. When I tightened the handle the first time the blade was misaligned. Second try was better. Any of you have blade alignment issues?

For the price, I’m very satisfied. Its a good shaver.

I’ve noticed this a little. Pretty much just need to load the blade carefully. But like you said, for $40 it’s still a great lil razor.

Ok so I repeated the last Shave Of and to avoid any razor blade issues I just loaded 2 brand new hand stropped Feather blades in each razor. I have to say that although not as stand out noticeable as the first Shave Off using the Polsilvers the new head was a bit smoother than my older one and I’m thinking it’s probably just one batch vs the other thing. I mean both were very efficient/effective at removing 4.5 days growth in a WTG pass and a reverse WTG pass.

I agree for the price of entry the razor is a bargain.

On a side note when I get people asking me about the Ikon with fear in their words I tell them it’s a good razor to perfect your technique if your past the initial learning curve or in the case of seasoned wet shavers. It will keep you on your toes as far as focus goes if you start getting to complacent.

Just my 2 cents.
