If you would all (Tech Owners) be so kind to post your iKon Tech’s, SPECIFICALLY the back of the baseplate.
I’m seeing some Tech’s out there being called iKon Tek’s. Maybe I’m delusional but I don’t see the “SHAVECRAFT” branding on the bottom. Is it safe to say “if it doesn’t say SHAVECRAFT, it’s not an iKon Tech?” Or should I be saying “iKon ShaveCraft Tech?”
Where is Greg Kahn when you need him?
I’ll start:
Good question. The website does not show any etching on the bottom of the plate.

Also, the photo you posted looks too shiny to me. Is it stainless? If so, and that is indeed a Tek, I may have to buy one for reference.
It has been a few years since I've had one but I think mine was made of a sandwiched aluminum material. It gave it an odd "hollow" or "tin" feeling that i didn't like. But, if there is now a SS version, it might cure a lot what I didn't like about the head.
Yeah, I found that pretty odd the new base plates don’t say SHAVECRAFT.
It’s not SS, it’s pot metal or something, maybe aluminum? Mine has lost that dull grey matte look over the past 6 years, even the underside of the top cap is starting to lose the matte look. Probably because I have a habit of wiping it down with old polishing cloths. I have a backup in its original packaging completely matte with the matte Bulldog handle, its also engraved SHAVECRAFT.
I remember them being sold out, reached out to Greg, said he may have 1 or 2 laying around, send him my address and when he gets around to it he’ll send them out. He did just that.
The matte grey on my Tech’s is different from my original iKon’s which I received from my brother. I think these are SS but they’re NOT polished, don’t hold me to that, they’re matte also. Bro said he got them in 2013ish.
