I am going to get hammered on this I'm sure. Old Spice. Vintage, Indian, new..... Doesn't matter. My grandfather wore it, my Dad wore it/wears it, and I wear it. Interestingly, my wife can't tell a lick of difference between the bottles of old spice my grandpa had that were full, the "Indian old spice" and the "new old spice" end of that day this stuff is timeless, smells great, and one I'll always use.

YSL Kouros ... it chose me.

First time I tried it, I hated it and had to have the Mrs drive back from the shopping centre so I could put my hand out of the window. I tried it again maybe a month later out of sheer curiosity, because all I read was just how well regarded it was. I got my own bottle shortly afterwards, vintage from the early '90s. I now have no idea why I had a negative reaction as this stuff literally has me purring like a cat with nip every time I wear it.

Yes, I could wear it every day without thought of wanting anything else.

Someone asked me this question recently and I've had a bit of trouble with it, to be honest. I LOVE perfume. It's hard for me to choose. It would have to be something versatile and inoffensive, but with enough craft to make it unique and beautiful all the same. Though my current favorite perfume is Bogue Profumo Maai (a strange, rich tuberose chypre from Italy), I think that, for a fragrance I could wear for the rest of my life, I land on a tie between Chanel Pour Monsieur (the original Eau de Toilette, not the EdP/Concentrée) and Atelier Orange Sanguine.

Honestly, I think I favor the Orange Sanguine a bit because it's much easier to obtain in the US. Anyway, what's your choice?

A three way tie, sort of. Yatagan, Green Irish Tweed, and Poivre Samarcande (sp?). Though, really, it would be the Poivre. Amazing juice. But so pricey I buy small decants on ebay.

Wow! That is some potent juice.

A completely respectable choice. It's stood the test of time. And I'm glad to hear the new stuff is good. Will get a bottle.

Sorry, Will, but there is absolutely no way I could choose just one. That is an absolutely impossible question for me to answer. Now, if you wanted to know what fifteen or twenty I had to choose, then I'd say... "Let's talk." Big Grin

I'm going to break the rules and name three.

Dolce and Gabbana, The One. #1 for a formal fragrance and smells of angels breath.
Burberry, Brit Rhythm. #1 casual fragrance.

Honorable mention: Terre de'Hermes simply because I like Fine L'Orange Noir.

You inspired me to get a bottle. Mine is the new stuff, made in Canada. Am now getting obsessed and thinking about trying the stuff made in India. Am reassuring myself with your post that it's not all that different so I can calm down  Shy I love the Old Spice I just bought. Thanks for inspiring me to get a classic.

That's awesome stuff I'm glad you like it!  Every wet shaver seems to gravitate towards one aspect of the shave and over indulge. Some guys have a ton of brushes and few aftershaves, others a ton of razors and few brushes; my indulgence is aftershave and with 30 plus offerings, I wear old spice weekly.  Grab a bottle of the cologne spray which is the aftershave on steroids (exact scent no difference) and you've got all day goodness.  I've. Converted a ton of fellow generation Xers in the office to OldSpice after morning meetings after they ask what are you wearing...."that's Old Spice"?  They abruptly get a bottle that day.  It's hard now to go to a meeting in our office and not smell OldSpice.
