I guess I’m pretty utilitarian, I use one jar until it’s gone and move to the next. I don’t like to have things just sitting around!

Two yrs ago I thought I had about 5 yrs of soap. I think I’ve made it almost 2 yrs since buying any soap and I think I really misjudged. Im pretty sure I have 5+ years left.

I don’t do any spreadsheets etc but due select one soap from a maker if I have identical soap bases and just keep a tick sheet. I did however keep track of about 5 or 6 Stirling samples. I believe these generally run about an ounce. With the exception of 1 I get around 28 shaves per sample. Mystic Water has 1/2 ounce samples and the couple I tracked were in that 12-14 range.

These aren’t hard soaps so I only use about 1gm per shave. It’s going to take a loooong time.
I mostly use synthetic brushes.  We have really hard water here but I’ve had a water softener about 3 of the six yrs I’ve been doing this however these numbers are during both periods. I also usually do 3 passes and touch ups so I load enough for 4 passes (except when I use badger brushes then it seems I load twice as long and get about half the lather)

Other than samples I only completed 1 full-size puck and that was my first purchase which was VDH glycerin but I don’t count that as I started using it to wash my face prior to shaving with another soap so not sure how many shaves I would have gotten. Also that was when I only had boar brushes.

Wow that was long winded. Sorry.

Started wet shaving January 2020.  Did not finish anything yet...

I began wet shaving in late February 2018 and have finished two soaps/creams. I have been thinking lately to reduce my rotation so I can polish off a few more.
