The Ambassador is 100% stainless steel.

However the first two production batches in 2017 (m3 and m4) featured a zinc plated steel spring that was sandwiched in between the guard and blade tray and performed the adjustment mechanism.

We heard complaints of oxidation forming from this zinc plated carbon steel spring. So anyone that contacted us was instructed to send it to us for the new Stainless Steel spring that went into all razors starting in 2018.

We paid shipping both ways and performed the swap at no charge of course because we guarantee the razor for life.

There are less than a few hundred of these early Ambassador razors on the market now. There are thousands more of the 2018 and later models.

If anyone has any worries about their razor we are happy to help with it. Another great reason we did serial numbers is so we could track and notate changes made in our production and note any service records on individual razors that have come back to us for work.

Hopefully that clears up this issue.

Thanks,

Matt

I got this Rex with other razors. It is M4, I do not know how the previous owner stored this razor.
I can see some wearing or discoloration on the dial.
I cleaned some corrosion between the shim and base plate.
But I couldn't dissemble this razor fully, and really do not know what the condition of the spring is or may more parts.
I put this razor on the sale, I bought this lot for another razor, is it possible the next owner can send the razor to you or not?
Your warranty normally works for the first owner, that is why I am asking.
I attached the photo of the dial:

Send it in to us and we will take care of it 100%. I haven't enforced this "only original owner" stipulation to the warranty.

Bottom line - it has the Rex name on it and we will take care of it.
