The Taiga has been out of stock for several weeks, and according to a guy at B&B, HLS won't be re-stocking until the Fall.  https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/thr...t-10547633

Rocnel Sailor v. Taiga

How do they compare and is one better?

They are both amazing! The Taiga excels on high gaps as being extremely smooth with the SB plate. The Rocnel excels on lower gaps with extremely high efficiency. I have used both on high gaps and the Rocnel is much more blade forward on higher gaps. Build quality is better on the Rocnel but you really can’t go wrong with either of these razors! I love the fact that you also have the OC plate with the Taiga. I own both and won’t be getting rid of either!

Sailor is heavier, built like a tank 2 piece razor that is blade forward, yet at 4 or below has very little blade feel. You can dial it up to 20 but at 10 the blade feel is more like a shavette. It can go from mild to out of this world aggressive. It took me awhile to find the right balance for me but now that I have it gives an extremely close long lasting BBS without irritation.
The Taiga is extremely smooth and on the lower levels has little to no blade feel. With the OC on 5 or SB on 6 I can get a really smooth long lasting BBS. The Taiga is more mindless shave.
I am also keeping both.

I have the Taiga and someone offered me a trade for the Rocnel Sailor, not sure to take it or not?

wfrosty10 My opinion would be if you like blade feel, make the trade. There is only 100 Rocnel razors per Phil, more Taiga’s coming in the fall. If you do not like blade feel keep the Taiga.

2020 Shave # 36 ( 455 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Home Like Shaving Taiga Adjustable Prototype Setting # 6
Blade: Wizamet (2)
Brush: Semogue Excelsior 830
Soap: CBL Tonsorial Fresh Lime 3017 (36)
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Aqua Velva
Fragrance: Encre Noir Lalique

Shave #36 for the 3017 and 2nd outing with the Taiga Adjustable Razor. I decided that yesterday wasn't the efficiency I was looking for even tough it was smooth and a nice shave. Today I took it up to #6 setting and yep, this is what I was looking for as far as closeness is concerned. Face is like glass and just 1 little nick reopened from a previous shave and already closed up. I can tell already that 6 will be my sweet spot for this razor........... if I ever get one. I enjoyed the shave and will repeat it tomorrow. I don't see me taking it any higher as I have the efficiency I want and the smoothness as well. I'm sure this stays smooth on higher settings but would be for multiple days growth and I'm a daily shaver. The downside for me is the head is a little bulky for getting under the nose close although I was able too. But add that to the price point and while I'd love to own one, I don't see it happening unless I find a deal down the road on a BST.

I think setting 3 (N) means neutral blade exposure. Beyond 3, settings have positive blade exposure.
