I didn't order this razor. It was shipped for testing and for a DFS pass around as it's a prototype. But, it was originally shipped back in late May if my memory is correct. So it was in shipment for 6-7 weeks. With this pandemic concern, shipping from Russia is going to be extremely slow....

Yep, I figured that. I ordered 3 handles from Home Like and 1 from Stork and looks like neither package has left Russia since early May. I had 6 brushes in transit from Australia for 2 months. Crazy but have to have patience these days if you are ordering anything from overseas! Even in the States, I have a Wolfman razor that has been in transit from California to Georgia for 9 days.

Yeah, it's going to be tough for awhile. I ordered some post shave products only available in Europe back in late April and the package just finally made it into the IOC over at JFK Int'l (I'm in the greater New York City area). So, unfortunately it's going to take some time. Also, if one went with economy shipping like I did, it can take longer....

Hello gentlemen.
I apologize in advance for the machine translation and the possible inconvenience that is associated with this.
I also ask you to be patient with all those who have not yet received their orders. Now is not an easy time, but we can handle it. And with your help (patience) we can handle for sure).
This is a description of a Hummingbird serial razor. It will be slightly different from what is currently holding a GlazedBoker. But there will be no fundamental changes. The handle is a little different in shape and polished is not as luxurious as from my colleague Gopnik. I think within one or two weeks we can already release this batch.
Taiga is closer to August, September not earlier.
Sincerely, Vadim Ivanov

We are glad to present you with a Hummingbird safety razor. It is designed as a continuation of your favorite Safe Razor Start. Just like the last razor start, the hummingbird is made of aisi316 stainless steel. In Hummingbird, the main geometry of Start was preserved - the shape of the top cover, or rather its inner radius, which last but not least determines the nature of shaving. But everything else has been redesigned to please fans of minimalism and old-school versions of safety razors.
First of all, the bottom plate underwent major changes, its length was reduced to 40 mm. Not only to make it look like old razors but also to reduce the gap between the edge of the plate and the edge of the blade, it’s easier to trim in hard to reach places. For the same purpose, special bevels were made around the edges of the guard. Now the length of the blade and the length of the guard are almost the same.
Big changes have been made with the lowest plate. All "excess meat" has been removed, but without compromising on functionality and durability, a special groove has been made for security origins, for those who do not like to scratch their razor. The grooves for the blade retainers on the top cover are now through, and the retainers themselves are flush with the surface of the bottom plate.
But besides external alterations, Hummingbird also has its own charm, since the GAP of this razor is not repeatable and differs from the Start razor. It will consist of positions:
0.80 - everyday shaving for soft razors
1.10 - medium aggressive razor, for shaving every 2-3 days. To whom circumstances do not allow shaving more often.
1.30 - aggressive razor, for shaving every 3-4 days. For owners of sensitive skin in conjunction with hard bristles to shave as efficiently as possible, for a minimum number of passes.
1.50 - for lovers of hardcore and maximum clean shave. Often you will not shave with such a razor, but each shave will bring vivid sensations and the joy of its effectiveness. With this razor, you need to not forget about the shaving technique and be collected. But the end result will be worth the time spent. For shaving on weekends, once a week.
All hummingbirds are polished, the information on the lower plates is applied by milling with a groove depth of 0.35 mm.
Specifications
The aggressiveness of the bottom plate GAP: 0.80, 1.10, 1.30, 1.50

Thanks for the very informative review Vadim. Looking forward to trying your new razor. Based on the description, I think the 1.5 gap will be my favorite. Smile

These are my findings on the weight of the razor components. Again, take these with a grain of salt as there is no universal standard on scales and such. I zeroed out my scale and got it down to +,- 2 grams.

HomelikeShaving has it at 102 grams. I got 91 grams give/take 2-3 grams either way. Still, not a super heavyweight and the balance of the razor makes it feel lighter than what it actually is.

Compared to the START razor, it (the Hummingbird) did cut some weight compared to its heavier stablemate which I have coming in at 107 grams without a blade.

Thanks.

Looks like the feeling is very different.
Kolibri / Hummingbird has about -10% weight / +10% lenght on Start.
I really like the shape, but I heard the song of the sirens ... which are dangerous predators.
