Well folks, the time seemed right to finally build up our High Jump 47 Collection a wee more. We have been getting many an angry email over the last few years when it came to the lack of High Jump 47 Body Bars and Solid Cologne...and rightly so. A scent so classic to our brand and oh so very EPIC should get the works! Clearly this was long over due.
But why stop there? While I absolutely loved the original label art, I felt it was time our hero Admiral Byrd needed a facelift. Something with a little more oomph that truly reflected the energy and adventure packed inside this legend of a man!
What is this mysterious yet Familiar scent?
Believe it or not, the origins of High Jump 47 are born in the Amazon Rainforest, of the fragrant resins that escape the Breu Branco Tree, or what I like to call "The Barbershop Tree". The natural, deep aromatics of Breu Branco scream classic man. Not indigenous in the least, but 30's, 40's even 50's classic civilized man. So much so it needed very little tweaking in my lab.
As I mentioned above, the "Breu-Branco" or white Breu, is a resin (or sap) from a tree. In the US it is virtually unknown but in Brazil it is used by perfume companies and as an essential oil. The resin itself has been used by the forest population for centuries for its many beneficial properties. From Churches to tribes, all who burn it claim its calming & concentring properties to be real.
About The Accord
The top note is made up of Amber in an effort to enhance the already naturally occurring Talc-like scent of the resin. Also added is a twist of Bitter Orange & Bergamot for "scent color". Lastly, I treated the blend with a thimble full of animalic musk to heighten the primal, natural musk already present in the resin, and to give shape in order to anchor this wild beast.
As exotic as it sounds I believe you will find it very familiar and masculine. You will immediately understand why it is part of the "Smelltrack" of our original shave adventure! So join us now as our fateful expedition begins...High Jump 47!
