High end or high performance? What WAS high end before the first stainless razor became available? Is the Highly regarded MERKUR HD now low end or Fat Boys mere nostalgia? Are you upgrading your shave or is the inner magpie squawking about keeping up with the big dawgs?

Chris, you know, hi- end items look better in SOTD threads...

Aaron, I don't mean to throw cold water on your scuttle( I still don't own one) and if you want a SS that is reason enough. I just ask you make a personal list of what you
expect out of it and avoid three figure disappointment.

So, what are you using now; slant, opencomb, short or long handle, mild or aggressive? Are you a Sorcerer's Apprentice with wet lather flying everywhere and need a solid checkered handle or an insert mini snowglobe of the MWF factory? What is your budget, cash burning a hole in your pocket? Are your bills paid up for May, plenty of frozen burritos and canned soup on hand?

My daily shaver is a 51 Gillette super speed. Ive used many razors over the years but basically just want to buy something nice for the sake of it.
Money isn't an issue. I just want a new razor.....

Although there are razors that cost significantly more, I would recommend the Rockwell 6S ($100). It gives great shaves...close and comfortable. And personally, I think it looks great in SOTD pix Smile
