Henson Ti

I asked about the tungsten washer, and the TI will not have one. But there may be “other measures” that have been unconfirmed.

Just got a message from Hensons...

"The tension is generated by the blade being clamped into the radius of the top cap.  This will still be the same on the ti version."

So, yes for a quarter turn to do cleanup passes, it seems. Woohoo.

Wolfman offered anodized Titanium several years ago, I was going to have mine anodized but James told me the anodized color would wear off in places over time.

A member in another neighborhood posted this...

"I emailed Henson concerning the 3 finishes on the Ti22, this is what I received (paraphrasing):
Titanium is raw, Solar Gold and Gunmetal Grey finishes are PVD."


I asked what that was and was given a wikipedia link. The takeaway seems to be these few lines:

"PVD coatings are sometimes harder and more corrosion resistant than coatings applied by the electroplating process. Most coatings have high temperature and good impact strength, excellent abrasion resistance and are so durable that protective topcoats are almost never necessary"

It looks like Henson finished the titanium razors a little early.  I received tracking for my Ti22 order yesterday, and it started moving today.

I placed my preorder a couple minutes after I got the email, hopefully I'll get tracking soon as well. Exciting!

(Edit: No, I didn't get a ship notice yet, but if they're starting now, it's still early.)

Has anyone had any RECENT contact with Henson Shaving like this past week? Contact as in they responded to an email inquiry or something like that. I had unexpected expenses come up and have been trying to contact them (three attempts) to tell them to cancel my order so I can pay for a furnace repair, and they have yet to respond to me or cancel my order. I know in the past they have been retty quick to answer email.

I haven’t had replies either
They also haven’t been on here in a while, probably busy getting the Ti’s out
