I feel very lucky to have acquired this Henckels Henso set:[Image: 20150709_074110.jpg]
It's beautifully made and even has a little leather cushion inside the case to protect the razor head:[Image: 20150709_073806.jpg]
I'm familiar with Henckels straights and their legendary Rapide SE but the Henso DE is a new one to me.
This is a heavy chunky razor with a toothcomb and everything about it is quality:[Image: 20150709_074132.jpg] [Image: 20150709_073935.jpg]<br />

Not really sure what the metals are, nickel plating and brass maybe except the golden metal seems yellower than brass and hasn't really tarnished:[Image: 20150709_073831.jpg] [Image: 20150709_073817.jpg]
And it's shaves in a very unusual way and I was instantly surprised at the smoothness - there's almost no blade gap and very little blade exposure so it feels well behaved and controlled like a NEW yet somehow there's still a lot of blade feel and it seems to be R41/FaTip efficient as well as being very very very smooth.
In fact this is the smoothest DE I have experienced and the shave has left my face feeling massaged and conditioned. Perhaps this is a characteristic of toothcombs since I had a similar experience with the GBS Roanoid razor, though the Henckels is much more powerful.
I seriously need to shave with this razor some more but on its first outing it is great performer - one of the most efficient DEs I've used and unquestionably the smoothest.
Has anybody else shaved with a Henso, and when were they made?
