The first soap test. It's my personal opinion . Good glide and caring qualities. Medium foam. Foam dries during shaving and no glides immediately. It is necessary to wash razor more often. The bank says - "Ultra premium". This soap does not even reach premium. Soap base based on duck fat. Soap Mike and Oleo are much more interesting to me. And there is no word premium on the bank.
I would say that GE soap is a medium level soap on a vegan base. And nothing more.
Therefore, "ultra premium shave soap" is at least not modest, but as a maximum - consumer fraud.

That was a rather troubling review. I have been involved with H&S P076 passaround and so using the Grooming Dept soaps included. Shall make it a point to endeavour a Friday shave using Cutting Edge soap.
Not to prejudice findings but can not support your reviews of Mike’s. Really wanted to like it for a number of reasons: lived and took coursework in Ann Arbor, bias favouring those academically accomplished, small artisanal manufacturer, affection for Upper MidWest and its people. Unfortunately, having tried a number of the soaps produced over time so as to accomodate accumulated learnings, have not had good results to date. Specifically, the soap produced good looking lather lacking glide and especially cushion. The soap tended to dry no matter how wet the lather during application and the post shave was reminiscent of Tabula Rasa which is to state dry and chalky.
Hopefully your assessment of Cutting Edge will not match mine. Experienced people I trust suggest the soap performs similar to Wholly Kaw and Grooming Dept. We shall see. Promise to post my results Friday or Saturday.

Brush - WW 28 SHD Maggard. Soap - 3 grams. All photos were taken within 3-4 minutes with an interval of 10-20 seconds. At the very beginning, the foam in the bowl is not dense enough, very little gloss. In 5 minutes . Foam in the bowl fell, dried on the sides, the gloss disappeared completely. I kept foam on his hand for the time of one passage.

Without being argumentative, irrespective of the visuals of lather -which do look great in the bowl - isn’t it prima facie that if a soap dries out mid shave, it requires more water?
In any case shall be trying this tomorrow and will endeavour to reply fully and honestly. One thought is, have you tried distilled water?

Looks like a typical overly airy bowl lather to me. I face lather and get wonderfully dense results.
It’s too bad you’re struggling with this base. It can be quite nice when lathered well.
I agree that dark orange is light on scent but the words you describe aren’t what I would choose personally
Glad you have stuff that works for YOU as that’s what it’s all about in the end here.

I have Cutting Edge and GD and find them to both be high end soaps
CE took me a few shaves to dial in but once I did it is a Great soap
the post shave is so nice I use the extra lather to wash my face and my skin feels great for hours
I have Citrus Wood and the scent is very pleasant without being overpowering
