Hi McNulty , welcome to DFS - are you looking for advice on a brush or are you looking for brushes for sale? If its the latter, then find your way over to the BST thread and take a look around. There's plenty for sale.
If its advice you're looking for then there will likely be plenty of that on offer too if you wander over to the Brush section. The basic preliminary questions when looking for a brush are:
1. What is your budget?
2. What material are you looking for? Badger, Boar or Synthetic;
3. Do you want a soft floppy brush or one with more backbone?
There are a ton of options but I think those are the basic threshold questions.

It is interesting that you asked that question. I now live in Los Angeles however, I worked in Baltimore for 4 years and many of the scenes in the Wire were true and many of the locations I remember.

You're not looking to save money, right? 
Seriously though, I'm sure there are many here that are willing to help you make that decision without taking out a loan. Answering the 3 questions posed by Marko will definitely get you started on your way to a new brush.

Welcome. Let me make a suggestion to you regarding a brush. Generally, you should consider how much you want to spend; but consider the following brushes. All of my brushes are badger. There are three brushes all by Simpsons that are under $100 and will probably be with you for many years. They are as follows the Colonel XL2, the Commodore X2 and the Duke 1. All are in Best badger. These are good starting brushes that you can use for a while and then get serious about the path you want to take. One of my first brushes was the colonel X2. I still have it and use it in my rotation. Good luck.
