Welcome to Damn fine Shave, Steve.

Other folks can't know me, because my nickname isn't the same at all Shave Forums.

Thanks for joining us, Steve56.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

What's your favorite shaving soap/cream?

Hi Rob,

My fave cream is ABC. Why ABC? Trial and error, I have a little redness on my facial skin and for some reason ABC makes it diminish - maybe the almond oil. I've tested this over time because ABC is quite pricey for an almond-scented cream, and I'd rather use Castle Forbes creams or Valobra hard soaps (AoS tallow, Czech and Speake, Valobra). Unfortunately my skin doesn't always agree with my nose. One good thing is that ABC is very concentrated and a tiny amount works well so there's a lot of shaves in that 'tub'.

It's also quite slick which is a requirement as I am a straight razor user.

Cheers, Steve

That's great that you've found what works for you, Steve!
Too bad about the Valobra, though. That's good soap! Oh well, you have to go with what your skin tells you!

Enjoy your shaves!
