HEADSHAVING, needs your input!

My go-to recommendation for headshavers is a Schick Injector.

I’m not currently shaving my head but that’s what I used when I was, and with great success!

I’m always surprised by the small number of people recommending injectors; which leads me to believe that a lot of headshavers haven’t ever tried them. I could shave my head fine with a DE, but the injector was quicker/easier/smoother - really just better in every way. That’s just my opinion though and it could be situation dependent. I have always shaved my face standing in front of a mirror, after a shower. But when I started shaving my head I was doing it blind in the shower.

So for my overall scenario the injector was best. As a bonus they’re cheap enough that it’s pretty easy to pick one up that doesn’t cost a whole lot, and if you don’t like it you’re not out too much money.

Yes, you are absolutely correct! A vintage Schick injector is a treat. Great for price AND performance. My favorites are G and J. The later models, including the modern Parker ajdustable, are far too mild for my head-shaving tastes.

I did not suggest injector as OP already has a DE investment, and the injector would be another blade type to purchase. I would recommend trying a Schick injector before purchasing another DE razor if you don't mind stocking up on a different blade style..

My bad, I did a poor job of reading the OP.  I am totally with you on the slightly older models being better suited for the dome than the later models, specifically L and N.  Still love my N for the face though.  Loaded with an old Schick Plus Platinum, woowee hotdog, that’s a mighty fine shave right there!

Unfortunately, there aren't any universal recommendations that anyone can make. Razors and blades are very specific to the individual. What works for me, my skin type, my shaving style, my lather preferences, etc... probably won't work the same for you. It's an experiment. I would start with some blade samplers so you can try out a variety of blades in your Leaf and see if any of them seem better or worse than the others.

I've used a Pils with Astra blades.  The razor is heavy enough so you don't have to press it against the skin to hard.  The covered cap is easy around the ears.
