Just got this in the mail. Looks to be a French shave cream. I wanted the puck but they sent me the tube. it smells like peppermint on the nose. Was looking for a barbershop variety. We will have to see....[Image: b7c6455a4a2bc86cdf192a2d3582337b.jpg]

Well, it's a shocker. Not anything like I thought it would be. The peppermint , camphor and or menthol is the major player with this "gel". The smell is kind of a vegetal experience but the aftermath is reminding me of toothpaste.
I tried to load the brush like I do with tubes in general. And it took a lot of creme to cover my face. It did not lather up like anything we could call "usual" but it did get pasty and slick. Hence the gel instead of cream. But oh well, how did it do? Well, the mentholicious explosion is a face freezer. Think Yeti snot. It takes a lot of soap for the shave so I would imagine lots of tubes being used. But at least it was cheap. On the back of the tube, it was listed as containing coconut oil, castor oil as well as others. It does leave the face slick with no irritation on a four pass shave. The problem? The razor gets clogged pretty regularly. And normal water swishing doesn't seem to clean it well. I ended up taking the razor apart and wiping it all down to get the last parts of gunk out.
What I did notice is for a good 30 mins this morning, my face was still cold. Wow!

Hey Ramjet, so it's a 'gel' and not a cream?

It's like both. I know that sounds weird but the consistency is such. I need to capture a pic of the product in the hand. ....

It might just be a brush-less cream.

Yet the pics are showing this massive great lather! Lol. What can you say... they're French. Either way, it's good. Just be prepared for a wet aloe viscous liquid on the face.
