Let me state forthrightly, in as plain a language as possible, my interest in this or any passaround conducted to date:

Zero, zilch and nada.  I have no financial interest whatsoever in the success of any product ever participated in as trialer nor organizer.  Allow me to share the benefit gained:

For the trouble of conducting these passaounds, am privileged to go hat in hand soliciting manufacturers cold to provide a sample of their product for public usage and critique (overwhelmingly most are great people even if they can not afford to participate or opt out BUT at least one is the most loathsome human being encountered in decades, whose interaction makes life significantly the worse for having encountered him), get to make an announcement soliciting users, accumulate dozens of responses, sort them by order of response, collect personal info for each, construct a database, alert guys when their slot is available (and make amendments if they unavailable at their appointed time), verify and communicate the addresses, chase guys down when they lollygagging to move the items, chase guys down to post the actual review they promised (many times having to post to the alternative fora they promised to post in) and deal with people irate that they have to await their turns (even if it due to reasonable emergencies along the way).

In the end, many of the companies alow me to raffle off or sell the products providing they go to canine rescue.

Clearly, I am a dishonest shill taking advantage of others for personal benefit; sincerely thank you for pointing that out.  The plan is so clever and devious that I expend effort to get the product into the hands of potential victims so they can trial it free of charge before using Svengali powers to convince them to purchase the product.  You sir, are a genius to have worked that out unlike everybody else operating under the presumption this being done as a service to the community (including me as get to try these products too).

Aji is a great guy and an exceptional Artison! I love my No75 razor and put it up there with the best of them. I know a couple guys that have tried the new razor SB and OC and have loved it. Dan has no reason but goodness to push Aji’s products just like any of us push stuff that we like!

Have those gentlemen posted elsewhere? They’re fantastic looking razors, but I’m looking for more opinions of the shave.

Edit: send me a message if not allowed to post links to other forums on here.

Just to be clear, am not pushing anybody's products. The announcement was a courtesy would perform for any product tried and favoured - including such illustrious companies as Wolfman and can promise, as good a guy as James is, never gave me anything nor participated in a passaround; quite the opposite actually, as have spent thousands....

Guys there are less than a handful of the P076 SB.left of this drop. Come on, these are outstanding razors at a giveaway price!

There have been circumstances beyond our control preventing one very highly regarded trialer from posting his experience and it was positive.

Many have paid a substantial premium on the secondary market for another 17-4 razor - I assure you, having owned and shaved with both, the H&S is superiour in smoothness, extremely efficient and built/finished to a higher standard.

One would be well advised to jump on this razor as it presses all the buttons.

Are the razors in the photo prototype models? Just curious because it looks like there are some decent machining marks left inter the baseplate.

Early preproduction prototypes. My lack of skills make it look far worse than reality too. The H&S prototype was better finished than the Paradigm I owned and it was quite good. Nothing is duFour of course save duFour....

I've now had 5 shaves with the P076 razors and have generally been very impressed with them. Three of the shaves have been with the SB version and the other 2 have been with the OC.

Both razors perform well. There is a decent amount of aural feedback from both razors, with a tad more from the OCs. I've used both for 2-pass and 3-pass shaves and the 2-pass shaves have been as good as the 3-pass shaves, the only difference being the longevity of the shave. There is a decent amount of blade feel from each of the razors, with (not surprisingly) the OC having a bit more than the SB. The shaving angle appears to be fairly generous and I've had no problem finding the efficient shave with either.

Throughout these shaves, I've started with Grooming Dept Eucalyptus pre-shave after a shower. I've used both the GD Aion or the GD Asinus for each shave. The Aion is a great soap and leaves my skin feeling clean and moisturized. I've foregone an AS on two of the three shaves with Aion and my skin has felt great all day. The big surprise for me, though, has been the Asinus soap. The donkey base feels rich, but it avoids the heavy feel that I often associate with heavily fatted soaps. The tub in the passaround is relatively soft, so loading from a scooped sample has been easy.

I'll use the razors a few more times and then send them off to the next participant.

Today's shave was the P076 against the Paradigm 17-4.   I don't have any particular reason to try this shave off other than because they're both 17-4 SS. But I figured it would be interesting anyway.

2-pass shave, South to North then Ear to Nose.  Both gave close shaves with the P076 feeling a little closer a few hours later.  The P076 also had more blade feel, but caused a little more irritation as measured by my AS sting.

Two things to note about the P076.  First, as between the Paradigm and the H&S, the P076 felt a bit more nimble in use.  I imagine that the length of the handle has something to do with it, but the shorter Paradigm felt a little heavier as I moved it around my face.  (The razors are within 4 g. of each other from a mass standpoint.)

The second thing I noticed was how comfortable the P076 handle felt when I was holding it away from the blade.  I typically don't like fluted ends of razor handles from an aesthetic standpoint.  But the slightly concave end of the handle and the indentation from the fluting provided a natural grip for my pinkie and ring finger when I was doing my S>N pass.

Great comparison and you are using the perfect soap for that shave off!
