Guerrilla Aluminum Razor

I am interested in buying this razor and have some questions. I am a daily shaver with a fairly coarse beard. I am currently using a Henson ++ and getting good results. I contacted Tara at Guerrilla and she said that James recommends the .54 blade gap for daily shaves. I am concerned that it might be too mild. I have used the Lupo and Timeless .95 for daily shaves and they were a bit much and too heavy. I tried the Timeless Aluminum and found it too mild and cumbersome. 
I would appreciate any and all recommendations from anyone who has experience with this razor. Probably leaning toward the open comb but am not sure about the gap.

I purchased the stainless Guerrilla a couple of weeks ago with the .99 SB plate, and am very satisfied with it. It easily provides an efficient two pass shave. If the Lupo and Timeless .95 was too much for daily shaves, the .99 may be too much. I find the aluminum Timeless to be "up there" in aggression/efficiency with the Lupo and Timeless 95. If you found the Timeless aluminum too mild, I am not sure you would be satisfied with the .54 gap. It is nice that there are so many options, but it sure makes it difficult to decide!

Did you ask Tara how much an extra baseplate would cost ? There's no option to purchase individual ones on the Guerrilla website (only "complete heads") but if you e-mail her Tara will then respond with individual plate pricing, you could pick up one or two extra. I picked up a 0.54, an OC 0.54 and a 0.69, I don't think it added anything to the prep/shipping time as I received it pretty quickly upon completing the order.

Smooth, smooth and then some smooth. The Aluminum Guerilla with the Schick blade is just a joy to use. This razor simply delivers on both comfort & efficient performance. If aluminum and lightweight produced razors are not your jam, just close this thread and move on and maybe take a look at the Bronze or Stainless Wolfman Guerilla posts & threads for the weight and more substantial razor tool followers. Yes, extra weight works and provides an extra benefit in helping one achieve shave bliss but, so does pressure in the right amount for the razor that lacks the extra heft. And when you get it right the Aluminum Guerilla will provide a near perfect and blissful shave.

GB, that's how I feel about the Aluminum RR Lupo.
$30 and better than any other razor (for me, so far... and I've owned dozens of modern razors, including the original Guerilla) other than a Blackbird.

I feel the exact same way! Have you ever tried the WR1 .61 or .67? I'm on the wolfman list and going to get a .67 to see if it shaves better as the Alu Lupo was supposedly a dupe of the .61 WR1.
