Say, what scents will the ducks be sporting in January?  Any chance the NY Chypre will be in the mix?

Hi TommyCarioca

The Mallard scents will be unveiled as the release date approaches. NYChypre will be launched in the Maxima base in a subsequent release.

Mo, please tell us more about the Maxima base. How is it different from Mallard and Kairos SE?

Hi bluewater23t  Thank you for asking about the Maxima formula.

Maxima draws its foundation from Kairos SE. However, as the entire line of soaps transitions to Aion Skincare, I recognized the necessity to update the base and rename it to accurately reflect the essence of this soap base. Additionally, Maxima incorporates many elements of the Nai formula.

The decision to christen it Maxima was not made lightly. This formula represents the culmination of a decade's worth of knowledge acquired in soap and skincare formulations. The base boasts the lowest superfat content among all the formulas I've created. My primary goal in this update was to enhance residual slickness, and I am confident that I have achieved this objective. With just one lather application, users can accomplish the equivalent of a three-pass shave.

I'll post the ingredients on the website in a couple of days.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by standalone. The next release will be the Maxima soap base releases. The January release will feature the Mallards with ducks on the labels. There will be no other releases between these two.

The reason was enquiring in that language is that don't recall the Maxima base being described and was wondering if 'Maxima' was the new 'Mallard' base

Apologies if I wasn't clear. Please see the above post about Maxima.

Maxima will be the tallow base I'll release, it contains lanolin. Mallard is the duck fat base and contains no lanolin.

For now these are the only two bases I'll release soaps under.

Maxima sounds like a game changer to me, and I wish you best of luck with it Mohammad.

That said, and while I know this is a busy time for you, I have some questions, and I would like to see if I have correctly pieced together the lay of the land for Grooming Dep't. products.  In part, my questions are motivated by the five soaps shown at the link which ischiapp provided.  All have "AION SKINCARE" most prominently displayed on the jar top.  Three of them display the model name less prominently, and two do not display a model name (on the jar top).  So my questions are ...

  1. Will there be only two bases going forward, Maxima and Mallard?
  2. Is AION SKINCARE the umbrella for both of them, and possibly for skin care products besides soaps?
  3. Does Maxima soap require a brush to lather?  Does it require time to soak in, or is there anything untypical about the lather building process?
  4. Thinking of what might be a flipside to the second question, is the plan for Grooming Dep't. to offer classes of products that are not AION SKINCARE?

Hi HighSpeed

Thank you for asking these wonderful questions. I appreciate your interest.

Will there be only two bases going forward, Maxima and Mallard?

For now, I will only be releasing soaps made with Maxima or Mallard soap bases. Cream and gel products will be released when they are fully developed.

Is AION SKINCARE the umbrella for both of them and possibly for skin care products besides soaps?

Aion Skincare is the brand I'll use to release soaps and other skincare products. I already have two well-received and extremely popular products: the Hydrating Gel and the Nourishing Balm. I also have the Aion Skincare aftershave, which is a skincare product specifically designed for post-shave use. I will be releasing more skincare products in 2024.

Does Maxima soap require a brush to lather?  Does it require time to soak in, or is there anything untypical about the lather building process?

The Maxima soap base is an evolution of Kairos SE, and it's still a soap in a jar that requires a brush to create lather. It's an extraordinarily fast-lathering soap base that requires minimal effort to create a superb lather.

Thinking of what might be a flipside to the second question, is the plan for Grooming Dep't. to offer classes of products that are not AION SKINCARE?

Grooming Dept will continue to evolve and release products. I'll reveal them when the time is right.
