Your CRSW Select, Eufros Premium, Midnight & Two, Mike's, Mystic and a few others are in the 2nd category imo.

Wow.  That's strong company to be in.  I'm looking to receiving the patchouli that I ordered.

Coming soon! Shares many traits with the vegan base, just as good. This is a stunning scent. I'm building my fragrance chops Smile Much stronger than my previous offering!

Now this sounds like something I could make room for! What's the ETA on Aether?

Will this be a combination of beef and duck tallow? Really looking forward to its release and the restocking of Elan Smile

Cannot wait to add this soap to my collection! Patchouli and Vetiver perform marvelously!

MaxP, I wrote that post carefully having used all of the above soaps extensively. Eufros Premium, CRSW Premium/Select, L&L and a few others are top tier soaps but I think GroomingDept is better. The results are in the shave and post shave results. Time, effort and ingredients. It's all there.

Looking forward to the Tallow & duck!

Elan will be back in 8 days. I have even made the scent stronger than the previous batch.

Yes sir, it'll be duck fat + tallow. Bufflehead Soap which I love, only uses the duck fat after the cook of the soap - just as a superfat. I'm putting it in the soap mixture and as a superfat.

i just had my first shave with one of your soaps, Lime. i've tried too many soaps to count and wasn't expecting a lot. i have to say, this soap is stellar! a very creamy lather and a beautiful shave. i really enjoyed it and can't wait to try Elan next, the other soap that i purchased. since it's my first shave using your soap, i can't state that you hit a homerun, but it's at least a triple!

one last comment - my wife is usually very critical of the scents that i use. after shaving with the lime, she commented on how nice i smelled. if wife likes it, life is good!

Thank you sir! And my gratitude to everyone on DFS. Everyone on this forum has been incredibly supportive and appreciative of my soaps. I'm thankful to you all!

It's a lovely Lime, it's made for 4 different limes: A perfume grade lime, a Persian lime, a 5x distilled Persian lime, and Expressed lime. All essential oils. Hidden in the fragrance is Coconut Pulp which works as a wonderful enhancer and anchors the scent, but one can't really smell it.

Please give my regards to your awesome wife, she has good taste Smile

I want to curb my enthusiasm, but I’ve got to say that my first impressions of this soap are extremely good. I like the ingredient list, and the tubs and labels are well done. It's clear that GroomingDept put a lot of work and thought into the formulation.

I enjoy both tallow and non-tallow soaps. My one issue with the tallow soaps is that the post-shave feel can sometimes be a bit ‘heavy’. Also, the tallows can feel ‘slower’ while shaving, even when well hydrated.  Whereas with the non-tallows, especially the Italian soaps like SMN, XPEC, Nuàvia, Saponificio Varesino, etc., the glide is very good, and the post shave feel is much ‘lighter’, finer, and more to my liking.

Used the Bonum Mane (good morning in Latin) this morning. This soap produced a lather that looked like the very best tallow soaps, beautiful sheen and peaks. But as dense as the lather looked, there was no ‘heaviness’ or ‘slowness’ in the shave. The glide was first rate, up there with the very best.

It was capable of taking a good amount of water without breaking down

The show stopper was the post-shave feel. I did something I haven’t done in recent memory. After rinsing my face after the touchups, I applied the remaining lather in the brush to my face, as Marco recommends with the Nuàvia. Cleaned up the razor and brush, and when I rinsed the face, the post-shave feel was so good that I put nothing on my face because I didn’t want to change it one bit. No toner, AS, balm, nada. Just applied some cologne before going out the door.

I’m not much of a scent aficionado, but I enjoyed the scent. My better half said it reminded her of Terre d’Hermes. So I went with that.

I’m not a fan of ‘lather shots’ because I feel the performance of the lather is infinitely more important than how it looks. But I wanted to give an idea of the load, the sheen of the lather, and the peaks.

Oh, and about curbing enthusiasm. I only ordered two more soaps today, so I suppose I showed some restraint (and I’m not a fan of Lavender, the only one besides Unscented I don’t have that’s not sold out).
