That sucks. It's a shame to lose that resource.

Was  it different from the description of the scent on the web page? If so, how?

Not an unreasonable question frenchy, but some of us, like me, only know what we like and what we don’t.  And like bgolfo, I don’t like the Molten scent.  As much as I like Mohammad, respect his brilliance, and support his work, this is one of the things that pisses me off about his “soap of the month” club approach to generating sales. It is not IMO what Ben Franklin called “Doing well by doing good”.

Maybe I’m missing something here. But..how is it his fault you don’t like the scent? Like ANY other scent from ANY artisan...some will like it...others won’t. That’s why I was very curious if your expectations...based on his scent description...were not met. Actually, because he produces way more scents than any other artisans it is more than likely that he’ll produce some you like...and some you don’t..Imo..his ingredients/scent descriptions have been pretty good. And quite a number aren’t in my personal wheelhouse. But...then again..he sells it out. So..what do I know. What I do like about his way of doing business is that it is likely that over time he’ll release a scent I find appealing...in one of his amazing bases. Anyway...that’s been my history with him so far. So, I’m more than satisfied having a few extremely high quality GD soaps in scents I enjoy. I’m not a collector and not a hoarder. I currently own maybe 6 or 7 soaps...mostly GD. I use what I have. If I buy something I don’t like...which is pretty rare...I easily move it on BST. But...as always...YMMV...

I love a ton of his scents but Veritas, WOW!! Best scent for me! Best performance, Mandarin Bay. About to lather up Molten and shave. Should be interesting with all the comments.

The scent on this is extremely complex but very smooth after lathering it up. The lather is rich, creamy, slick and dense. It does take a ton of water like everyone was saying. My load was 15 seconds and I could have stopped at 10. My lather build is always 1 minute and I had a ton of lather after 30-40 seconds. Mo keeps making the Lusso base better and better even though I thought it was great from the first iteration. My favorite Lusso soap is Veritas but this one is a close second.

That donkey/duck/lamb base combo is magic. Been combining them in unscented versions for nearly a year so glad to see it sold premixed. However still find lusso king of hot humid weather soaps

Just noticed the new Asinus has this combo. Can’t wait until this releases! Dan have you been just making a frakensoap from all the separate ingredients? How does it compare to the other bases?

Combine equal parts Pekin and Asinus with half part Agnus in a bowl. Not concerned with blending the unlathered soap, just whip it up as a lather. Whether it mimics Mo proportions is unknown but can state with confidence it performs almost identical to Mandarin Bay - my current favourite 3 season soap with Lusso being choice for hot humid southern summer season

I don’t know if it’s different than the description because I don’t know what all the individual notes smell like. To me this is a good scent but I get a smoldering coal smell in this somewhere and it doesn’t work with me. NOT saying this is bad bc Mo is very good with his scents, it’s just not 100% for me

Yep, the Donkey milk combo base is my absolute favorite!! Can’t wait for the Asinus release and the special edition release that he is sending to West Coast Shaving.
