My first notion would be that something happened to the soap in transit, and that’s what affected its consistency. However, if two soaps arrived via the same method of transit, and only one was affected, then my theory may not hold a lot of water… (Pun partially intended.)

Several years ago, in the middle of the summer, I received a soap that was completely liquefied by the time it reached me. Its scent never really matched what I had read about it, but once the soap became firm in cooler temperatures, it was a solid performer. (Again, pun partially intended.)

Airing a soap out for a number of days is always worth a try with one that is not quite what it perhaps should be, whether it’s the consistency or the scent.

My Coattails held its form, but when I touched it, it was softer than any of my other Grooming Dept soaps. The only one that's anywhere close to this soft is Incense&Rose. The lather was amazing. The post shave was good - I'd say better than vegan but not as good as the other animal fat bases. I love the scent. The saffron in it reminded me of B&M's Promises, but the overall scent is not that similar to it. I'm glad I saw a few posts about the softness because I'd have really overloaded had I not checked it first.

I'm puzzled as to why some jars seem to be liquified! I'll make sure the Almond release is a great deal harder. In the meantime, if you got one and you're not satisfied with your purchase please get in touch. I'm happy to issue you a refund.

Thanks Mo, but I never said I wasn't satisfied. Smile
I just used it again for this afternoon's shave and I'm thoroughly impressed with the performance.  This tub is staying firmly in my den!
I'm looking forward to the Almond release.  I have an original Figaro P160 block mixed with ABC soap, so you've got some stiff competition mate. Wink

The almond scent development took an interesting turn Smile

The ubiquitous ingredient to use when one is after the Almond note is to use an ingredient called Benzaldehyde I contacted my fragrance ingredients suppliers requesting to buy some. I was told that sales of Benzaldehyde are now super restricted by the DEA! I'm now researching alternatives.

Hi Mohammad,
I was wondering if the delay in finishing your almond scented soaps would also delay the release of your other soaps including Asinus (Donkey Milk vegan), I'm so envious of folks enjoying your wonderful soaps while I'm still waiting! Thanks Mohammad

I was gong to ask the same thing. I am starting to have new GD soaps withdrawal! What and when are any new soaps coming? I am really excited for new Vegan/Donkey Milk base soaps and any new Duck Fat base soaps.

Greetings,

Some customers have reported undesirable smell from these three soaps: Ambrosia, Credence, and Aether.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, and you have not received a replacement. Please feel free to contact me to return the soap. I will be happy to issues you full credit towards a new jar of my soap.

I had a banner on the site for several days letting visitors know of the recall. I tried to send an email last Friday to customers who only bought these soaps, But Mailchimp has a bug and is not letting me send and email to only those customers. Later today I'll send a message to everyone who subscribed to the mailing list.

Thank you for your business.

Thank you for your business.

I thought that it was just me. Anyway, it was from the Movember auction so I just sucked it up and used it every day until it was gone. Good shaves once I dialed it in, but I really was happy when it was gone.
