Hello nice folks at DFS.
After using an electric shaver for a few years, I remembered that I loved shaving when I was a teenager, but had stopped due to the irritation and ingrown hairs. Last year I decided to take up shaving again, and used cartridges sporadically without an issue, but one week required me to shave two days in a row which completely destroyed my face. Upon researching for a while and watching some videos I think that I am going to take on straight razor shaving. I found someone locally that has been honing for a while, and is willing to provide his services to me. My dad found a few stones that my grandpa used, but I probably won't be using those until I know what I am doing. I just purchased a strop and am currently looking for a starter razor. I figured I would make an account and introduce myself since I will probably be asking for advice and sharing my overall progress.
