Today is a good day!
I woke next to a beautiful woman who loves me, wrinkles and all.
Had some Ethiopian fresh roasted coffee in China cups.
Cooked a pork loin roast, and had champagne with it , celebrating our 23 year old granddaughter's virtual college graduation , while we are several states apart.
Listening to Chris Botti on my earphones, and reminiscing over past days of many gigs with my trumpet, now relegated to the attic of forgotten dreams.
Sitting in my recliner, 48 days into a stay at home order from our governor.

  Above all, I'm happy!

I'll take a walk in the Swamp later, and enjoy the beauty of nature, as I can see and hear better now, as per the miracles of medicine.

Congratulations!  You have a beautiful woman who loves you, a good attitude, and a graduated granddaughter.  As for your trumpet, life is like that too often.  Why don't I send one of my saxes over to keep your trumpet company?  That way, neither one of us will have to worry about them getting lonely, and we can just be cool.

At least, that is what I would like to believe.  The truth is that it is hard to remember our forgotten dreams, don't you think?  I mean to remember them vividly.  In any case, I still need to work on that.  It seems to me that the alternative is to pace upon the ramparts reciting the Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow soliloquy.

I expect that you of all people will understand what I mean.

My wife and I got out for a walk today along a waterfront, and as we crossed a street, holding hands, a woman who had stopped her car for us opened her window and called out, "You two are such a cute couple."  Now that really made me feel old...

I guess I just think of 'cute' as something you call someone who is under age 20 years or over age 60.

Just go with it. Honest compliments are hard to come by and it sounds like you two deserve it.
