Unfortunately many on this forum and other shave forums have a disease called "acquisition disorder" and it's a communicable disease as we search for the perfect shave. There are many forms of AD. There is RAD, or razor AD; BAD, or brush AD; SAD, or soap AD; and list goes on. As long as it doesn't take food out of the mouths of the children it hurts nothing and generally one can get the money back when one encounters something that isn't liked. There are far worse (and far more costly) hobbies.
Thank you ! With a 100 plus vintage and modern DE razors (everything excludes a Wolfmann) atleast 40 soaps and 25 aftershaves and another 30-40 shave brushes - it's turned out to be quite a journey in the last ten years and has it saved money !!!
And now I've started the SE journey and it's another adventure. I've had two shaves so far using a Gem Junior yday and a Gem G-Bar today - all I can say is wow ! I wonder how I didn't start earlier. Zero irritation , extremely close BBS shaves and from what I read 30 odd shaves a blade !! Woot !
I've yet to shave with the MMOC, clog pruf , 1912, star , ever ready in my den ! I don't think I'll go for a modern Gem razor yet - the vintage ones are so artistic to look at and perform so well and haven't really read about a modern Gem razor which really out does the vintage Gems !
