Some fellow fanatics and I decided to launch a wet-shaving charity project to benefit children impacted by the water crisis in Flint, MI. (For those who don't know, I did some child welfare work in Flint during law school.) Fortunately, an awesome soap maker, Maria Arman from Michigan, agreed to produce a soap specifically for this fundraising initiative, and all proceeds will be donated to a highly respected, Flint-based charity. Feel like supporting a worthwhile cause by way of an oddball grooming ritual? Here's your chance! Buy "For Flint" today.

Soap description: Our Premium Shaving Soap base featuring coconut oil, mango butter, cherry kernel oil, and silk protein has been exclusively scented For Flint. A complex cologne fragrance made featuring top notes of bergamot and mandarin orange; middle notes of ginger and patchouli and a base of vetiver, cardamom and sage. Similar to Armani Eau D'Aromes. Matching alcohol aftershave splash available as well.
*The Frugal Shaver (https://www.etsy.com/shop/FrugalShave) has graciously offered to donate a light sabre shaving set to be drawn from the first 100 soaps sold. Thanks, Aaron Frugiradet!!! — with Jared Stein

Thanks for doing this tdmsu. The soap sounds great and I will definitely be picking one up. As a fellow Michigander, it's important for us to stand with the people of Flint and this is just one small way we can show our support through this little hobby of ours.

Here is the organization that Through the Fire Fine Craft is contributing to when the soap is purchased.  Unfortunately, I can't use various scented soaps, but I can still donate to the cause.  I am also a Michigander, a Yooper to be precise!

I received my "For Flint" soap and aftershave on Friday and shaved with it today. I don't usually like cologne-type scents but this one is very nice. I get a mostly citrus and vetiver combo, I like it! The performance is incredible. Right up there with B&M and Mystic Water for me. Awesome post shave too. Overall a winner. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another TTFFC soap. And to know the proceeds go to a great and worthy cause is just icing on the cake. Thanks again for the effort tdmsu.

I also had never used a TTF or Maggard's soap but received mine while out of town and used this weekend.

Much like Jeff, I don't typically enjoy strong cologne scents but this one is very pleasant and subtle. The soap itself was more of a "Creap"; very, very soft.

Performed well and offered solid post shave too. Add in a great cause and happy to have picked this up!
