Yesterday's shave had me circle back around to the PAA Diver Down. The homage to Seaforth Spiced. And while I do like the scent and the performance of the soap. I was initially surprised when upon applying to my face. That it is a mentholated soap. Since I did not recall seeing that in the description. I went back and looked. And there is no mention in the description or ingredient list. While not a huge deal. It is a bit of a negative for me. As I find mentholated soaps a bit distracting. I do have and enjoy aftershaves with it present.
I am more annoyed that it is not mentioned in the product description. Kind of like your hot new girlfriend leaving out the fact. That her ex is doing 5-7 years. But will probably get out soon for good behavior. That's something you'd like to know. But she was a very attractive size 4 brunette. Wound up being wife #1. But I digress.
The razor was a vintage 1971 Stiz. A least I thinks that counts as "vintage" At this point anything that was made before, or 5 years after me darkening the doorstep of the world. I consider vintage. The Razorock 400 did it's thing. And followed up by the capable Master Barber Spice. Good shave.

Last couple shaves This morning being pictureless as I was tired and lazy. Up all night doing side job.
Gillette Fatboy Voskhod
Cella
Omega Boar
Skipped AS.
Sunday nights shave.
The Aiku Real German Hollow Ground.
Donderslag by Scheermonnik
Hombres synthetic
Proraso Red
This razor begs the question. “Can a razor made in Japan be Real German Hollow Ground?”
I guess if a German dude say like Wolfgang moved to japan. And got a job at the local cutlery factory. Then they could argue that it’s not deceptive marketing. Thoughts and comments appreciated. I’ll be up all night. Alone in a dark deserted construction site.

I figure you already know how Germany made many many many..............................MANY blades and shipped them to the US to be made into straight razors by another manufacturers adding their own scales to it to make a straight razor. I assume Japan acquired some to do the same ??

Today was a rare for me morning shave. The night was uneventful at the security job. And when I returned home a long hot shower was a good way to end/start the day.
Revisited the newer soap I have, the PAA Astra Planeta. I am enjoying it. Does a nice job and smells good doing it. The razor is my lone Italian Straight. The C. Di Ricco&Figli
Company in the city of Campobosso. That is the Solingen or Sheffield equivalent of Italy. It is equal to any of the great razors I have from those place. The Brandy Spice goes well with the Astra Planeta. Made for a very nice shave.
Hope everyone had a good Wednesday.
