[Image: VzwU6p5.jpg]Good evening gentlemen. Tonight's shave has a debut contained within. A new to me brand of shave soap. PAA Diver Down. A homage to Seaforth Spiced aftershave in the CK6 formula. On first smell I do get the bay rum/ old spice vibe. Good scent strength. The performance of the lather seems to be very good. But one cannot be certain after just one use.
The other scent I acquired is on deck for tomorrow night.
The Fisher Stainless proved up to the task. And the Old Spice does work well with it.

[Image: WfDA91E.jpg]Tonight's shave features the second soap of my first shave related purchase of 2021.
PAA's Astra Planeta. Upon opening the jar. It is readily apparent that there is a bunch of scent notes all trying to reach every single receptor in your nose.  They all blend well to form a pleasing aroma. The CK6 formulation is proving to be very enjoyable to use. For me it seems to like more water. And this like the Diver Down has good scent strength. I am happy with both soaps. Whipped up by the Yaqui badger which is a great brush.
The razor this evening was my Gold Rex 1072. This was my first Japanese razor. As well as my first NOS purchase. Proudly made from Swedish Assab steel. It is a joy to use. I believe this to have the best edge retention of all my razors. Whenever I do put it to use. It makes me question why I keep buying other straights. But that thought usually doesn't last long.
Finished everything off with the Tabac Man AS. Which goes well with the overall scent of the Astra Planeta.
Enjoy the weekend guys. I'll be watching my football games.

Thanks Dave. Hope your weekend goes well too.
I had originally planned on getting the Cavendish. Since I had already smelled it from the sample pass around. You know I am a sucker for tobacco scents. And the description intrigued me. So I went with an unknown to me scent instead.  It is hard for me to describe the scent. I am not like some of the guys. Who have much better olfactory abilities. Like bloodhounds. I don't even wanna know how they meet and greet new acquaintances.
You can tell me what you think. As there is  hunk of it in an envelope already heading to Kentucky.  Hope it gets to you quicker than the sample of Grecian Horse i sent out to Tim.
Have a great day buddy.

I’m a fan of the PAA soaps. I have the AA Bay Rum, Porthos and Sangre de Drago ... good stuff. If you want to try samples, just let me know.

I put a good bit into the envelope. Should be plenty to get an idea of if you want to pull the trigger on others in that base. (if you don't like the scent)

Thanks for the offer Tim. I am trying to keep my soap collection from growing out of control. Thus have been waiting to make a purchase until I use up a current soap.
A constant struggle for me. But I am going to need a ruling on my question.
Do samples count as being part of a collection? Or are they exempt from being counted? Fellow afflicted members that have been diagnosed with SAD. Feel free to chime in.

I don't count them as part of the collection as they are easily used up or dispensed of and also help in being selective of what comes into the actual collection.
