No problem. I will just use Stirling Executive Man w/Menthol for $13.45 as my Creed Aventus clone.

I agree that calling it greed without more data isn't fair, its capitalism, however, an increase of greater than 30% is a little steep all at once. The market will decide whether the product is worth the price.

I have some Fine aftershaves and I find the scents nice enough but as far as soothing face feel, they are pretty average which puts them right in there with the rest of the crowd. Now Barristers Reserve has scent and soothing face feel (I don't know what else to call it) and is worth the price, however, in my opinion the undisputed king of the hill in the post shave space in both scent and soothing face feel is Chatillon Lux which is without doubt worth every penny of its $15 price tag.

Now these two responses are fair.

I just noticed my bottle of platinum was low so I picked another one up. I pay more for PAA splash so I don't see the price as anything outrageous. I'll continue to buy it. I tried Stirling's version and didn't like it as much.

I mean, look at the ingredient list of something like Barrister's Reserve in comparison. Worth $20? I'd say yes. I like Fine aftershaves for the scents, but they don't compare skin care wise. I don't understand the reason for a $5 increase. A couple bucks maybe but not 5. Looks like I might have to re-up on American Blend and think about picking up the Lavender, L'Orange Noir and Platinum to round out the collection before the price hike.

Exactly what I was thinking. $20 for those ingredients is high. Now then, if they are using high quality pure essential oils for the scents, then they might actually cost more to make than some more complex aftershaves with lesser quality EOs. The scent on American Blend is very strong, but I have no idea if it has essential oil or fragrance. Either way, $20 to me seems high, especially when Stirling cost a mere $13 on average.

Snakebite doesn't even have any fragrance. Is that one going up to $20 too?

Honestly, I always thought FINE was a bit steep at $15 considering the few ingredients (none of which are actually beneficial for your skin), but I still continued to buy on occasion due to the fact that MR FINE's aftershave scents lasted on my skin for a little while. I would usually only buy from other vendors however as his shipping rates made it extremely over priced. But again, the scents are quite nice and I believe that's exactly why most people purchase FINE A/S to begin with! I certainly wish him all the best, but at that price and that ingredient list, I must bid farewell.

I'm late to this party. Well, for what it's worth, I really like the staying power of the Fine sandalwood AS but I won't buy it again. Used to have their barbershop scent and their Aventus clone. Both got tossed. The American Blend had a note that I just grew to dislike. Ditto the Platinum. I agree about the lack of anything in them for skin conditioning. I've never tried their other products. I also generally prefer Stirling aftershaves, though many lack the longevity of Fine's I find they still stick around for a few hours. And they wear close to the skin so if I want to wear cologne, there's no clash. I wish Fine well with the price increase, which is fine by me.

I really liked many of their scents but it doesn't last as long as I'd like. Honestly none of my Fine's last as long as I'd like.

PAA is a bit steep but I get it. Just looking at their ingredients list, with hydrosols and what not, it gives me the impression of quality, and the scents are very long lasting too. Many of their aftershaves can really be a cologne substitute. I do wish PAA would release their take on more expensive cologne alternatives.

Even Razorock is on a roll lately, and I feel their aftershaves are lasting longer as well.

I'm afraid just like with Fine's brushes, the aftershaves are too overpriced for me.

I wonder about Razorock.  I've had a huge problem with their soaps not having enough scent or even being unscented.  Now if their aftershaves actually brought some stoutness to the party I'd be up for it.  Their comparable aftershave to Fine American Blend is 11.99.  Maybe I'll give that one a try before I buy a handful, trying to duplicate the aftershaves I have from Fine.
