I clawed my way from sleep predawn and displayed the tricolor on my patio flagstaff. It was brought back from the war by my uncle; handsewn with the Cross of Lorraine. My brother seized his huge Nazi battleflag with an upturned nose at the valueless 'French rag.'
Those flags pretty much sum up our politics today. Back inside for French roast and croissants, played La Boudin singing it at full attention.
Time to shave, I remembered a small package unopened in my old Yeager rucksack. I had walked down to Trader Joe's and gifted my friend
Danielle ( we keep our French up talking to each other) a French volume of Francois Villon for today and came home spent from the heat and walking all over town. I opened it and Sacre' Bleu! I now possess a Lereshe! It was her grandfathers, apologies for such an old thing but knows I shave with old stuff.
So, I pulled out the PdP # 63, my Plisson and Guerlain Imperial; shaved, dressed and donned my French foreign Legion Pin and Herme's tie.
I will watch Beau Geste with Gary Cooper today, play Carnival du l'Animals later and watch a Jaques Pepin video on French Onion Soup and make it a second time. I have a decent Bordeaux in my closet floor.
So, to any French members or Francophiles I raise my coffeecup ( third one, I really blew out my body yesterday) and hope I haven't embarrassed representing my country with my behavior.
