From the beginning I have not liked the subscription model used by OneBlade. I have been curious to try it and almost bought one when they were on sale, but the smiley blade issue turned me off considering that returns and exchanges are a real headache from Canada. Recently I was reconsidering, but only if I could get the blades from another source. Connaught Shaving will not ship blades to Canada or the US any longer and I'm not sure if Maggard will be able to get any more.

I decided to contact Feather to find out if I could order direct from Japan. They directed me to their distributor by the name of Jatai International in the US. The response from their US distributor was:

"Thank you for your inquiry.

I'm sorry to inform you the FHS-10 is not available for distribution. We have a sole distribution agreement with a distributor which prohibits me from selling it to anybody else."

It disappoints me to see that Feather would support this blade monopoly. Feather is now on my blacklist.

I do not follow new production razor gear but your concern interests me. Could you provide a link to the blade mfr and type you are describing? I hate monopolies regardless of what they are.

Don't blame Feather, it is the oneblade company that doesn't want anyone to buy blades from anyone else.

No, obviously folks in the UK can buy their blades from Connaught.

"let me save you from drowning, said the monkey to the fish as he put him up a tree." All these lousy zamack razors will still be mated with dozens of DE blades long after the last oneblade is float tested on a large body of water.

Connaught Shaving is an excellent vendor with good prices and good service (my experience).

Hopefully no one thinks Connaught management decided to lower sales and lower profits by limiting Feather products to UK buyers. Connaught is limited by a manufacturer's or distributor's agreement. I cannot speak to One Blade and subscription service.

Nothing against Connaugt. I am surprised that Feather would support a the OneBlade Monopoly.

You may actually want to try buying them from Connaught despite the warning. I've bought a 240 pack twice w/o issue, and the warning was there. It appears the restriction is on the honor system.

I bought a 10 pack about a year ago, but I heard that they will now cancel the order.
