I don't find the glue spots on the Feather blades to be a problem , other then removing the wrapper and thats no big deal. I'll have to check but I think they just wash off in hot water.

IMO Feather makes the sharpest DE blades, but they're only good for 3 shaves.  They also make the sharpest and longest lasting AC SE blades.
But the FHS-10 (OneBlade) is lacking in both sharpness and durability.  They're not as sharp as Gem blades, and are only good for 1 shave.

When I first started using Feather blades I would change them out after 2-3 shaves but then I found that in the Rockwell 6s I could get 6 shaves (a week) out of a Feather.  After reading some of the comments here on Feather blade longevity I decided to see what I could reasonably get out of a Feather.  I just completed shave #13 on a Feather blade.  Shaves 1-5 I did with the Rockwell 6s on plate #3, then shaves 6-10 with the Rockwell on plate #4 and shaves 11-13 with the Wolfman WR-1.  The shave today was still excellent so I'll keep going with the blade to see how long I can go.  I'm thinking of digging all the used Feather blades out of my blade disposal bank  Big Grin Gone too soon.

Interesting, I have a fairly heavy growth and get 5 shaves from a feather.

I haven't had much luck with feathers either. Have only tried them a few times but each time it has been a rough shave. Tugging and not very smooth but maybe need to try em in a different razor glad you were able to have em work out for you!

I have a love hate relationship with feathers. Amazing in my mild razors but too much in my charcoal goods lvl 3.

On my CG Lvl 2 it's like a match made in heaven. Easily 5-6 quality shaves with no irritation, razor burn etc etc. I don't push to get any more from Feathers as I have far too many blades to dispose off in this decade. But on Merkur Progress they were awful. So blade performance is so very subjective and depends on razor, prepping, climate as skin responds to climate change too.

I agree, they work great with my GC.84 but with the CG lvl 3 it was brutal.  Tried it a couple times with the CG lvl 3 got a big time rash especially on my neck & gave up.

Feather blades( DE & AC )  have a very thin and fragile coating of PTFE .
Especially regarding the DE Feather blades  the PTFE coating is worn out after the first or second shave .
They remain sharp enough for shaving ,but they have lost most of their smoothness already .
