The as-d2 mild reputation comes from the very narrow effective angle.

is the blackbird mild or aggressive though?

I always feel the 'aggressive' description has a negative connotation and can dissuade a newer shaver...

But if we're asking that specifically, a blackbird is aggressive... Much more so than an ultra mild as-d2.

If the AS-D2 is ultra mild compared to the Blackbird then is it safe to say the Blackbird is on par with the R41 or iKon Tech?

I haven't had the privilege of trying either. Sorry.

I'm using the Feather this week.

The thread here reminded me that I love the way it performs.

AS-D2 shave #2 today paired with feather blade and a new soap delivered today - Mike's vetiver. Absolutely outstanding shave. I cannot believe how smooth this razor is for me with BBS/near BBS results. No aftershave so I can still smell the vetiver.

Hi gregcss that has been my experience with the As-D2 / feather blade combo. Also Mike's Natural Vetiver is one of the best straight up vetiver soaps in existence, IMO. I'm glad you're enjoying your shaves. Happy2
