Got this in a local auction. I don't believe this to be the original box or handle, but it does have at least 7 wedge blades and a Wester Bros Stropper. Anybody have any outside links or info on it for further study? Also, looking for a seller of those fancy shims to be able to use modern production Gem blades with this so I can take it for a spin?

The original handle may have been used on one of the stroppers or put on another Gem in the same lot I bought.

Nice razor. I have one very similar to it if not the same model and year. Just put a Gem blade in it and go. You don't need a shim unless you want it to be less aggressive. You could put a spine from a blade under the working blades spine I suppose. It doesn't need to be elaborate. That was a suggestion, I've never done it and I don't know how it will work.

That is a really nice set. Those lather catchers shave great.
