As you know I’ve added a few new Body Washes along with a Shampoo and Conditioner and they’ve been pretty well received especially the Vanilla as that went fast and I had to make a 2nd batch.
I thought I’d add something to this post. Wednesday I made a small batch of the Traditional Bay Rum Body Wash for that Spa I mentioned in an earlier post. It was easy as I have my unscented base ready to go so it’s just adding the scent. Well I made one extra for myself as I really enjoy Bay Rum. I really enjoyed it and I’m going to add it to the ETHOS line up but I just want to know what is your favorite between a bar soap and a body wash? I’ve been asked by a few customers if I’m going to make bar soap again. My biggest issue with that is it takes a lot longer than making a batch of Body Wash, there’s not much profit in it and by taking longer it takes me away from making other shave focused products.
So what’s your take on this subject. The reason I ask is I may have found a local body soap maker who’s not that small of an artisan as she and her company make soaps for quite a few bigger brands.
So what’s your choice? Body wash or Bar soap?
Thanks for your input in advance.
Hey Frank Dragonsbeard
I used to use bodywash exclusively, but in an attempt to reduce my use of plastics, I switched to bar soaps a few years ago. Every once in a while, I will get some bodywash to try a scent, etc, but mostly stick to the bar soaps. I was buying from a local maker who only used natural fragrances, but she closed up shop last year. It's difficult to find local makers who don't use synthetic fragrance in their soaps. I do buy Pre de Provence when it's on sale.
I had a few bars of Ethos Greenfresh when you had it available, and it was definitely one of my favorites. If you have it made, I will purchase.
