It seems the fruity and floral are quite popular. Do you have any scents you would consider “dark?” I am looking to try Russian Tea and have dragonsbeard if those are first to mind.
Ever consider an AMA on this forum? I’m eternally curious about the process of creating scents.
Thanks!
I have about a dozen of Frank's creations and the only "dark" scent is DB. I'm betting Tears of a Dragon will be a killer dark rose.
Hello my friend
As far as dark scents I think you and Dave have covered most but I’d have to add Mandarino Fumo as it’s a deep powerful Tobbaco Leather aroma. It has the most longevity as far as the post shave products. I will be slightly modifying that scent on the next go round which will be this winter.
The Tears of the Dragon is definitely got more legs than Dragonsbeard with the increase in the Oud and Rose and the little touch of the Patchouli absolute which is there if your nose search’s for it. I’d also look at Lost Souls which is more of a deep forest scent. I have no plans for any new aromas coming out this Winter to be anything other than darker, richer type scents. A couple could possibly be put in the Gourmond category but still be looked at as kinda dark.
As I mentioned before in an earlier post other than Never Sleeps I have no plans for any new aromas that are cologne like or use a bunch of synthetic aroma chemicals. Also no plans for any florals or fruity scents till spring. I don’t know how you’d categorize a natural Fougere but the one I’m working on I’d say is not dark nor is it fruity but rather more green but with some depth.
After the Holidays I’ll be updating new aromas I’ve been playing with that will be made this winter.
Hope that explains things my friend and thank you for your support.
