I have been using the ETHOS soap/skin food for several weeks and recently realized an additional benefit of this already excellent shave soap which, I do not think, one may not realize. When using a soap there are several features that are important and may enable one soap to outperform another. These features are subjective as there are no readily available ways to quantity them (other than price per gram used) as there are no reported gap measures, angles or weights traditionally used in commenting on razors. Nevertheless many agree that a soap’s cushioning, slickness, ease of use, scent, skin hydration and lack of adverse skin reaction are all useful attributes to consider.

Personally I prefer smooth shaves with little to no blade feel that result in efficient 2 pass shaves. For that reason I like a solid bar over an open comb in a DE shave. Nevertheless I own several vintage (Gillette) open combs and some modern (Charcoal Goods, Fendrihan, Pearl, Timeless, Wolfman) open/dual combs. Although there are a few open combs that are smooth I don’t usually use them due to the extra blade feel – I can get a DFS/BBS result with most of my solid bars so why bother with the extra blade feel of an open comb.

Here is where ETHOS can make a difference. When I decided to use a modern dual comb razor my passes using the open comb were much smoother and comfortable than I had recalled. For me the ETHOS soap has allowed me to use a (subjectively) harsher open comb razor (vintage or modern). So even though I prefer a solid bar and find a SB shave with ETHOS to be extremely smooth, I am able to use some of (my preferred) open combs with an overall smoother experience. Perhaps this just reflects a soap’s cushioning and slickness but it has allowed this user to comfortably use an open comb, something I have never experienced with any other soap. As always YMMV but it has been an extra bonus feature using the ETHOS soaps.

So spot on and my apologies! Honestly I expected the website to be up a month ago! I have two people that have been working on getting it up but they are doing this as a side project as they both have full time jobs. One is a graphic designer who has worked with me on all the labels for the products that I launched with and the new products that will be released. So the short story is it’s taken a lot longer than I thought it would take. I’ve also been overwhelmed trying to keep up with the amount of orders I’ve gotten while trying to keep developing and making products while trying to maintain my hair care line business during this pandemic and developing personal care products products part time for a CBD company that became of the shutdowns and being a non essential business decided to use their manufacturing facility to make 3 different hand sanitizers so I had to come up with 3 formulas for them. So I’ve been working 7 days a week trying to play catch up without any employees to help me as their all staying home because of this Corona 19.
Last week we made a lot of headway on the website and I was hoping we could get it up this coming weekend but my graphic designer has a family emergency and won’t be able to help me get it up till next week.  So frustrating on my end to. So until it’s up I’m taking orders by email at ethosgroomingessentials@gmail.com.
I’m glad you brought this subject up as it needed to be addressed.

So thank you and I mean that!

Frank

Thank you Frank, I found you were very quick to respond to my emails a couple days ago and now await the products I ordered. Thanks and can’t wait to try the Pineapple Noir.

Currently:
Clean - unscented
Success - Pineapple Noir
Lavender - curing about 3 weeks out??
CBL collaboration but not really Ethos

Coming: Soon - real soon
Citrus
Dragonsbeard Redux
Another that I can’t recall

All Ethos soaps sans Dragonsbeard are the same [excellent] Ethos base
Dragonsbeard something really special
CBL Collaboration unique base

Unlike really any other line, Ethos uses truly top of line ingredients without cynically padding the ingredients list

Nothing ever used has been as cushioning with better post shave than the Ethos line. It provides brainless cushioning lather with any water that leaves the skin clean, nourished and completely irritation free.  It is hands down the best ever used on my severely damaged skin.

Oh, and good lather has no suds indeed

Thank you DanLaw for the kind words. First off I’d like to say there are a lot of great artisan shave soap makers out there. I’m glad my soap is working for your skin type.

So right now I have the Pure Collection Clean Shave soap and Skin Food splash which are both unscented.

I also have Succes Pineapple Noir Shave soap, Skin Food splash and EDP spray

The 2nd batch of Lavender Supreme Shave soap is made and curing along with the Melange di Argume Shave Soap

Next up is the beta version of Dragonsbeard which will have my new base I’ve been working on. There will also be a Skin Food splash and an EDP

At the same time from the Island Collection will come the Endless Summer Shave soap, Skin Food splash and some other products.

Just to be clear the the Fresh Lime Shave soap and Skin Food splash collaboration with CBL was Chris’s
Premium base that was tweaked a bit and then we added camel and goats fresh milks and the EOS Complex. They are both available.

Also from the Aja Collection I have the Mysore Santal EDT Skin Food Splash which is made with authentic Mysore Sandalwood oil and wood chips.

There will be 1 new pre shave product and 4 post shave products that will be available in about 10 days. I will be offering customizing of a few products.

Thank you Dan!
