Deodorant/Antiperspirant

So, for a while now I had been looking for a new kind of Deodorant/Antiperspirant to use to replace the sticks/gels that I had used for years.  I ended up using for the last few months some sprays, Dove(which isn't bad), Axe(way toooooo overpowering IMO) and Old Spice(meh...).  They worked, mostly, but the scent of them just lingers in the air and after a few hours at work I didn't feel like they actually did anything to mask my... well, me 

So, once again searching on some of the shaving sites I frequent, in this case Italian Barber, I found RazoRock's The Best Deodorant on Earth, and, I have to say, I'm liking it so far.  It's a cream that you apply with your finger, and you really don't need much, just a dime dime dollop is enough.  I have the citrus scented one and I really like the scent, it's strong enough to be noticeable but not overpowering and even when the scent fades I don't smell from BO.  It does separate after a while in the tub but it comes with a handy wooden stir stick to mix it back up again before use, which is a great touch!

Overall I am very happy to have found this and will certainly order more!

SO, anyone else out there tried this yet?  Or maybe you have found another kind of Deodorant/Antiperspirant that you enjoy and would like to share?  Always up for trying new things!

I was using Old Spice stick deodorant when I started developing a rash.  I found I was having the same problem with most of the mainstream products on the market.  Then I tried the mineral salts deodorant and it works great.  I have been using it for years with no problems.  Also, it is not an antiperspirant for which I am thankful as I do not like them.  This is what I use:

From what I've heard those crystals aren't that great for odor or heavy sweaters. Any validation? Also is that almost the same as the alum? I noticed some people saying they use alum as deodorant instead of old spice, axe, etc. Personally I use old spice pure sport or fresh scent, and I can't use any of the blue sticks or gel; it must be the white stick. Gels burn me and make my skin red.

I have never had a problem with it controlling odor, even on hot humid days.  However, it is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant so you will sweat.  That is exactly what I want, though I do not sweat excessively.  It is healthier for the skin, in my opinion, as it allows the pores to breathe.  Also, I find antiperspirants uncomfortable because I feel like my underarms are glued shut.

Here are a couple of close-up photos so you can see the ingredients and, yes, the alum block used in shaving and this have the same roots.  One thing I do not do, as the instructions state, is moisten the top of the stone. That will have the stone becoming a mess after a while.  Instead, after washing under my arms, I leave that part of my body undried and just apply the stone dry.  The wet armpits will release just the amount of the deodorant needed.

I don't have marble or granite countertops but can only assume that there is some sort of chemical reaction that would not benefit those types of material.

my wife wanted me to try some deodorants without the aluminum in it. I tried 3 different brands but could not find one that didn't give me a bad rash. I've tried primal pit paste, Tom's of Maine and kiss my face. since I couldn't find one that was scented and worked for me (I like scented deodorants), I just went back to the regular antiperspirants I was using for a long time.

I recently started using mitchum advanced control deodorant. the smell is wonderful and so far, no rashes. I've had rashes pop up from some sticks of degree deodorant and the right guard deodorant that comes in the brown aerosol spray can (not sure if it's still available any longer).

I received the RazoRock Citrus "Greatest Deodorant on Earth" this week and after a couple uses, I agree with Shawn. It works very well.

I've been using the same Crystal mineral deodorant for a few months. The mineral salts are the same the blocks of Alum that we buy in the wet shaving world. Alum works as a deodorant because it's a natural antiseptic. Antiseptics kill the bacteria that grow in the damp warmth of your arm pits.

It by far is the best antiperspirant/deodorant product that I've used.
